I have the day off today so am trying out a couple of SGA vid ideas. Have pretty much given up trying to properly render the SPB vid, though I do try now and again ~ it's very frustrating :/ I kinda got it to save, but it's a version that gives you no details about bit rate or length of vid, and won't rewind or f/forward, it will just play, but it will at least play the whole thing. For example (about the details) on a properly rendered vid that I have saved as a WMV, these are the categories displayed when you hover over with the mouse: Type, File, Duration, Bit Rate, Dimensions, Protected and Size, but with this other version I have so far managed to save all you get is: Type, Dimensions & Size. Also, when you play it as well as not being able to rewind or f/forward, it doesn't tell you the total time if the vid. Trivial things, I suppose. My question is: should I just upload it anyway, and share what I have managed to save, in the hope that one day I will be able to get the damn thing to render properly? It is actually complete, just not renedered properly, I guess.

My TV was returned today, all mended and with a new tube installed :) Actually, it wasn't too bad using The Boy's TV in his bedroom ~ although his TV is small (my now fixed TV is 32") his bed was very comfy and I didn't really mind the small picture.

I had to go shopping this morning, much as I didn't want to leave the house. It's my day off and I would've been perfectly happy to alternate between my computer, my TV and my books :) But I needed coffee and stuff, so had to venture out :( Also ended up buying three bars of Divine FairTrade chocolate (which is gorgeous so go get some) ~ one bar as part of my friends birthday present, one bar for my neglectful geeky elf partner (who forgets where I am alot of the time whilst she over-geeks ~ I know she can't help it so I forgive her :) ~ but she's having a traumatic time so needs supplies) and one bar for me ... in case I accidentally ate one of the first two bars :) Pretty good plan, eh? Of course, it's early in the day yet and there are currently three bars of chocolate sitting on my dining table ...........

Woo for days off! (I have no classes today, yay, though I do have four books to read.) I don't know anything baout vids but I hope your vidding issues work out. SGA vids?! *loves*

And hurrah for the telly being returned. Being a student and without access for quite some time, I miss it less and less, but I imagine not having it around could be stress-inducing. (I'm told, btw, that S2 of Numb3rs is airing in the UK starting from tonight).

I've only made 2 SGA vids so far and numerous SG1 vids, but I think my own favourite that I've made is Allstar, the first SGA vid I made :)

re: video... I donno man. It's up to you. Of course, that's not to say I've never uploaded a video just cos I was sick of it and wanted nothing more to do with it. Sort of like the one I'm working on now. So much encoding involved... I hate it. And now, NOW there are xvid and mpeg HD releases. NOW. *mumbles*

The videos is complete, and it's OK (according to _gater_ but it just hasn't saved properly, for the reasons I mentioned. It will play all the way through and everything.

I know how you feel ~ always when I've finished ripping I find a better way ~ or so I think!

You're a much better person than I am because I could never have gotten through the day with the chocolate bars. I either have to freeze them (so eating them will cause tooth loss) or store them at my next door neighbor's (like I did the candy I was given for Christmas - she doled out the candy and cookies a few at a time - LOL). Just call me "Piggy Sue" (all southerners have "Sue" as their middle name, in case you didn't know).

As for your vid, go ahead and post it. I wonder if I can re-render it for you...hmmmmm...will have to play with that in a bit. I'll get back to you, but throw it up there (...that didn't come out right...sounded more like something my cat does with hair balls...sorry). Once it's posted, I'll snag it and explore the possibilities. I can't wait to come for a visit if only to have the opportunity to work on your pesky computer!!! (I love a challenge...goody...goody...please don't fix it before I get there!)

Tomorrow is an "off day" of sorts for me because 1) we're expecting flooding and 50 mile per hour winds (that's HUGE - 80.47 kph) so I can't work outside, 2) I have a miserable medical test in the morning (had it done before and I'm not looking forward to it), and 3) I have a dentist appointment in the afternoon (another "not fun" one). I think I'd rather work somewhere unpleasant for the day...might be more entertaining.

Have a good remainder to your week - if all else fails, snarf down those other two chocolate bars. I hear it's a great cure for a rotten mood!!!

OK, I will try really hard not to do that. *rofl* Because it's only been a year I've been trying to, so the chances of me somehow stumbling across the fix just before you get here are pretty slim, I reckon ~ besides, I'm waiting to be impressed ;)

Maybe I will post it, purely because I've wanted to make it for so long and now it's actually done i want people to see it :)
