I have a provisional date for my operation. I spoke to the hospital yesterday and they say I'm booked to go in on Monday 25th June and to have the operation on Tuesday 26th June. And as the surgeon said he wanted me to stay overnight because of the previous problems after surgery, that means I'm going to have to stay two nights. Nuh. Not happy. They say I'll get written confirmation about a month before I'm due to go in so I'll wait and see if this is a definite date (thought I think it probably is) and whether I really do have to stay in for two nights.

I've also been 'persuaded' to take a couple of days off work (today and tomorrow) to just relax. Yeah, like two days will do that. Still, now I have a date for the operation I can plan around it and I'm hoping to book a proper week off before I'm due to go in.

On a random note, I've decided I need to have an icon purge cos I'm bored with a lot of these now and I want new ones. Not a lot of point renewing the paid userpics thing if I don't change them and fill it up, right?

I'm sorry I've not really updated this properly lately and I hope you're all OK :)

So I just spent another 20 minutes or so whinging to Deb that I can't watch the Werder Bremen vs Chelsea match tonight and it's Torsten's birthday, dammit.  And she was actually pretty sympathetic considering she totally doesn't get this obsession  :)  Then M came in and said I could have an early present and left a large Thorntons toffee cake on the desk ..... which made Deb & I pretty happy  :)  And did I mention that 'Radek' left an apple tart on my desk yesterday?  *g*  He said the cake fairy had been ... I don't think he got why I was suddenly spluttering coffee everywhere.  Anyway, I can't eat all this cake so help yourselves  ;)

Plus today I'm quite cross about something but am having trouble not feeling guilty about being cross.  Did I mention that guilt is my default position?  Along with paranoia?  And an over-active imagination  :) 

Oh, and I've changed my default icon for the day.  Because I can't watch the match tonight.  And no, I'm not over it yet :(

 I've been awake since about 5.30am with a banging headache, and am due to go play tennis with Ella in about 20 minutes.  I think I will go anyway, in the hope that the running around and fresh air will help  :)  The Boy won't be up for at least an hour so I should be home in time for breakfast  ;)

Slightly stressful day yesterday ~ hence the headache, I think.  Got a little bit lost in the forest yesterday afternoon whilst out with clients ~ though I blame Jane, who always says she knows where she is going and this isn't the first time she's been lost.  We weren't lost for long, but you do have time constraints when out with clients as you have to be back by a certain time, plus you have to take into account the needs of the people with you and one of these chaps had high support needs/challenging behaviour, so we really didn't want to be lost for long.  When we got back, one of the clients in our team had taken ill and was being taken to hospital.  The Tosser (this is just todays name for him, will probably change) had not even informed any of the staff in our team (who know this client very well) that anything was wrong with her.  Jane and I decided that I was going to the hospital with her, which didn't go down well with The Tosser, who insisted he had found someone to go with her and I didn't need to go.  I ignored him and went anyway.  She was fine by time we got to the hospital, thankfully  :)   Then The Boy was an hour and a half late home from college which freaked me out a little and meant I had to sit outside his house waiting for him for over an hour.  So yeah, one of those days  :)

I've decided I now don't much like the colours of my new layout and will be changing them again this weekend ~ and I've still not sorted out the two banners on the userinfo page, but at least I'm now sure which one I prefer  ;)  Plus I cut about 20 userpics this morning and am on the lookout for pretty new ones  :)

Huge hugs to azonia who has uploaded the ELO song for me ~ thanks!  I've been humming it all day and trying to resist the urge to jump around the room!  That's why I liked Elton so much ~ such a geek!  :D

My plan for tonight is to go home .... hopefully eventually, chill out with some chocolate and watch some Numb3rs ~ geeky unwinding  ;)

So ....... any of you ever seen 106 pretty Rodney icons all in the same place?  Well, I guess now I have so many I could vary it a little.  Unlikely.  But I could  ;)

I have to go to the gym right now, but can't wait to start filling up my 106 spaces when I get back!  What do you think?  Will take me a day?  2 days?  :P

I'm still re-reading 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea, and I just got to the part where Nemo takes Prof. Aronnax and shows him Atlantis!  I'd forgotten that bit - well, it has been at least 10 years since I read this book  ;)   If you've never read it, try and make sure you do one day - it's fantastic  :)

My whole flat stinks of marjoram and ylang ylang at the moment - have got it burning in the lounge and in my bedroom in an attempt to relax me  :)

And because I don't have enough userpic space for all the pretty icons I have, I've had to sacrifice the "Flyboy & Geek" icon for this one  - so I hope you like it  :)   I get a lot of nice comments about the icons I use, but as I point out every time, none of them are mine, I just surf around snagging the pretty ones - all of which happen to be of McKay - purely conicidental!  All are credited, so check them out further if you like them  :)

I'm grateful to my fandoms and Jules Verne for keeping me ever so slightly anaesthetized against RL at the moment - long may it continue.

Thankfully I am now feeling a lot better - a lot steadier, calmer and more positive about things.  I also accept that I will have panic days, but I've just got to take them as they come  :)




We have a few entries posted so far for the Trailer Challenge on the forum - the ones I've watched so far I've really enjoyed, and I think it will be hard to pick my top three!

And this wonderful icon I'm using is by not_a_painter and I'm using it specially for azonia cos it makes us both chuckle - a lot!  :D.........though I'm not sure _gater_ will like it! :/
