The future of SG1 & Atlantis ~ SPOILERS
I'm just going to say exactly what I said to
bella_luugosi ~ I was really surprised by this ~ but having thought about it, it's probably time. If they'd gone in another direction a little more it might have worked out better ~ they thought of rebranding it as Stargate Command and I liked that idea ~ but sticking to that same formula was never going to last forever, and 10 years is damn good going. I'll miss it, but then there are 10 seasons worth to enjoy over and over and over again :)
Sad though :/

Don't be sad....
He has asked that fans loyally support the remaining episodes, viewing them "live" rather than recording them to watch later, as this will make reselling the franchise easier. He's very optimistic, as am I (to borrow from Teal'c).
Actually, the demise of the show was carefully orchestrated, as Sci-Fi, USA (Monk & Psyche - main competitors), and NBC (hence, the wrestling show on Sci-Fi) are all owned by the same company. They have made the business decision to let go of SG-1 in favor of less expensive to produce, more profitable shows that they already had in production.
What truly stunk was their decision to announce the show's cancellation during the cast/crew 200th episode watch party on Thursday evening. Totally classless, IMHO!!! All they cared about was having the record breaking 200th episode in their dossier...
Hope you're feeling better about yourself, my friend!!! And the offer of a few bucks toward bread and peanut butter for the month still stands!!! (Or do I have to box up non-perishables and pay extortionate postal rates?)
BTW...got the latest postcard and it's a beauty! I can't wait.... Figured out yet whether you're coming to London or if I'm coming to Bournemouth? I need to book hotels & train tickets ASAP.......
Love, hugs of consolation (for all of us in mourning), and tons of good wishes!!!

No, you don't have to send me boxes of anything, you lovely, crazy woman! And I would love you to come here to stay with me, but that's up to you ~ if its easier for you if I came to London, I will. Long email tomorrow (seriously, I promise!) expaining things, OK?!
*hugs, hugs, and more hugs*

Having said that, we can do whatever you want. I can train from Bristol to Bournemouth and then on to London. Or we could both go to London from your place and see Gater.... Lots of options now!!! We just need to make some plans so I can book hotels, trains, etc. Give it some thought....
Love, hugs, & prayers!

P.S. I am "gutted" over the demise of SG-1, as I am still having trouble getting into SGA...sigh. I guess it's time to buy the DVD's and work on it. I'll really miss the SG-1 gang, though. They had all signed contracts for the 11th year, too - something they have never done this early in a season. Go figure!!!
