Okie I'm sorry this has taken so long to post, but behind the cut are pictures of the McShep family: Rodney, Shep (kinda) and some McSheplets.
The pictures aren't great cos 1) my brother is useless at keeping his tank clean, but then again we've already established that McShep like it dirty ;) 2) the McSheplets are piddly little buggers who hide a lot and 3) Shep is camera shy and the McSheplets wriggle too much for me to take good pics!
Click each pic to enlarge if you want clearer detail

That's all! For now...
I was in there just now trying to take more pics. Earlier this week I thought there were only 2 or 3 left as that's all I'd seen for the last few days, but just now I counted 12.
12!!!
More pics if you want them and if I can get them ;)

Wanking Santa had blown his lights again when I drove past this morning, and it always makes me grin when that happens! But he seems to have recovered and was back to his slap-happy self when I drove past him tonight on the way home ;)
Current count on the McSheplets = at least 10. Could be more, they're piddly little buggers! A slightly worrying development is that Shep and Rodney have not been spotted for about the last 2 days. They're obviously both under the filter doing... I don't want to think about what they're doing, but I can't lift up the filter to shoo them out cos one of the babies seems to have taken up permanent residence on top of it.
dizzyblonde3 suggested I flick it off so I can shoo Shep and Rodney out and stop them from... whatever it is they're doing.
*facepalm*
There better not be another batch of McSheplets on the way.
And. Um. You guys that have exchanged postal addresses with me will most likely just get a card off me this year. No Muppet packages this time round I'm afraid... sorry :/ I'll just do my usual and send you something randomly during the year sometime. Like I do :)

I thought I should update as it's been a few days.
I've just had a long weekend, took Friday and Monday off work as The Boy wasn't here this weekend which meant I could do what I wanted and relax. And all in all I've had a really good few days. Friday and Saturday I threw myself into Christmas shopping, having not started earlier and feeling kinda panicked about that. But today I've wrapped up everything I bought and I don't need much else at all, so I'm relieved. Broke, pretty much, but relieved :)
The McSheplets are doing OK. Well, a few have died, but that was to be expected. I mean seriously, you'd have to see the state of my brothers tank to understand just how miraculous it is that they were even born, but then again, weigh that up against the mating habits of McShep and I suppose it becomes inevitable that we're gonna be inundated with babies. Plus there's this whole thing of how you're supposed to keep the eggs separate once they're laid and yadda yadda... Not sure how many are left, it's kinda hard to count. I'm really hoping at least a few make it.
I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow. And I don't mean in the sense that I've had a good few days off and can't be bothered, I mean I really don't want to be there at the moment with how crap things are there. But I also don't want to be anywhere else cos I do actually like my job. A lot. Nuh. I know that probably makes no sense at all to most of you.
EDIT: Latest count on the McSheplets is 9. But there's a different number every time I go in there. Plus they're really piddly and hard to spot. So all that means is there are at least 9 still alive ;)

So. I went in last night to turn off the light in my brothers fishtank and saw something strange out of the corner of my eye. So I turned the light back on and what I saw made me sit down suddenly on the edge of his bed with my jaw practically on the floor.
Rodney and Shep have done it again. And yes, I do mean literally. The tank is full of baby catfish.
This time though, I never saw the eggs, or the weird foetus things that came after the eggs hatched last time and which died/disappeared within a couple of days. Somehow I missed all that, and now there are actual baby catfish swimming around. I don't know how many cos I couldn't count them all, but I reckon at least 10.
I am seriously so amazed that they're there. I mean, I'm not amazed that Shep and Rodney have been at it again, I mean, it's a given, right, that they're at it all the time? But my brother's tank is really dirty and he hardly ever cleans it, so realistically, this shouldn't have happened. Then again, clearly McShep like it dirty and filthy, as do their offspring *grins* The dirtier the better apparently.
I'll keep you updated as to how this batch get on, and I'll try and get some pics up if they look like they're gonna make it this time ;)
Oh, and Rodney is swimming around as smugly as he usually does acting all blase, and Shep has hidden himself so far under the frickin' filter that I can't even see him. He damn well better stay there, I'm not over the shock yet and I'll be wanting serious words with him when he's brave enough to come out.
