1) chile: I generally don't watch regular TV but I was absolutely glued to it for much of yesterday watching the chile mine rescue as it unfolded. I think inspirational is a pretty good word to sum up the amazing feat they achieved yesterday. It's good to cry happy tears over something so amazing for a change =)

2) icons: I seem to have lost my icon-fu. I'm sure that's a made up word, but nevertheless, I've lost it. I have a batch half done (about 30 or so icons) but can't post them as to me, a batch isn't complete until I've done 50+. And yet I cannot get past this block I have right now. I'm very frustrated.

3) paper legends: I've slipped a little on my BB reading again the last week or so, but having read over half the stories posted now, I'm not going to be too hard on myself about it. Hopefully I'll pick back up with some more reading next week. I feel weird about reccing any due to my close associations with the community - but also because I honestly believe they all deserve to be read - but if you want to know which ones I've kept so far, just check out my { paper legends tag } on my Delicious bookmarks.

4) photos: Speaking of BB fics, I decided I needed new folders for keeping my favourites in. I tried to find more Animal ones like I got last time (sadly there weren't any) but I did find these red Bench ones and they were only 2 for £2.50 which I figured was worth it!

My friend Nichola has also given me a stress ball for use at work when doing the cover. Very useful:

Good day:

Not such a good day:

Hope you're all doing okay ♥

I think all those wonderful stories deserve to be stored in something pretty =)

1 - Yeah, the mining rescue made me cry too! So amazing how they all made it out! :D

2 - I hear you about the creative blocks. I don't know what to suggest, because it's different for every person, but I hope you're able to move past it soon. It can be insanely frustrating wanting to do something creative and feeling stuck :P. *hugs*

3 - I'm slowly working my way through them all as well. You're doing better than me, but I know I'll get to them eventually, so I'm not too worried! :)

4 - I continue to enjoy your binders :D. Also, I love that stress ball. So cute ;)

1) It still makes me cry when i see the new reports, but in a good way =)

2) It's so frustrating =(

3) I figure I'm actually not doing too badly at all. Plus, I'd initially wanted to go slowly as I'd hoped my operation would be sooner so wanted to save some for my recuperation time, but as it's not now till January, I might just save the longest ones till then.

4) Me too; those pretty binders and what they contain never fail to make me smile =)

All the Chile coverage has been utterly amazing ♥

I think I'm actually doing pretty well with my BB reading, just feel guilty for the authors I've not left comments for yet.

I have a thing for textiles, stationary, crockery. Stuuf that's functional but artistic.

Me too! Glad to hear there's someone else that does =)

Hope you have a lovely day ♥

I was working when I walked past a TV showing the rescue. It definately brought a tear to my eyes and brightened up my day. Good to hear that all miners are out (although I hear some came up to both their wives and girlfriends...)

You have the most awesome folders! Really colourful and neat designs! And glad to see the stress ball is holding up and hopfully doing it's job well

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Yeah, my friend Sam and I particularly enjoyed watching the 21st miner come out as he didn't know if his wife or his mistress would be there! It was his mistress ;)

I think such wonderful stories deserve to be stored in something pretty =)

Hasn't it been amazing watching that rescue, such a heart warming story of the humbleness of true bravery and those 6 rescue workers who went down there to make sure everyone got out safely are some of the real heroes of this world.

Chile! ♥

I hope you'll get your icon fu back soon! They are always so pretty!

I need to read more bb's as well. I haven't read that much yet but the ones I read were fantastic!
And I need to print them out, too *nods*

Love your stress ball =D

Chile ♥

So do I; it's so frustrating, especially considering that I used to bang out a post every couple of weeks or so.

There are some absolute gems out there amongst the BB's, and some ones that are really surprising in such a good way, too =)

It's a Big Bang fic, and in this case, the Merlin ones. I run the Merlin Big Bang community [livejournal.com profile] paperlegends and there was an amazing amount of stories posted this year.

Love those folders, and the stress ball! I hope he spends more days smooth and round and fewer days squished, at least for your sake. &hearts

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Thank you - those folders and their contents make me smile, and I think such wonderful fic deserves to be stored in something pretty =)

Considering my job it should really be squished almost constantly, but it's too cute for such abuse =)

The Chilean miners' story had a good end, thanks God. It was so heart-warming to see it.

I know, how creative block feels, it can be very frustrating indeed. I don't know, what strategy works for you of course, but for me challenges and deadlines are the best to get over it.;)

Now I'm in reading the Atlantis BB's stories, awesomesauce! But I want Merlin stories to read as well! I'll definitely check your bookmarks, thanks:)

Lovely folders and the stressball is so cute! Me want one!:D

It was so woderful watching such inspiring images ♥

Hope you enjoy the Merlin BB's; there's some absolute crackers in there, but don't just rely on the ones I favourited, check out he masterlists over at the community itself and see what else appeals to you =)

Stress balls are a thing of wonder!
and I wish I could've seen the mine rescue. Boo, work. But it is a truly an amazing story. ♥

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I picked Peter up yesterday and he hadn't seen it either =(

From: [identity profile] chratz.livejournal.com

I have a stress ball as well, when I am doing my programming homework. it really does wonders :D

Love the idea, to save a hardcopy of fics you enjoy. and you can read them away from the computer, even when the internet isn't working. LOVELY idea!

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I've always kept a hardcopy of my favourites so I can read them whenever and wherever I want - even took some down the beach this summer to read!

From: [identity profile] prfctdaze.livejournal.com

LOL Love the stress ball and his little scrunched face :D Not good that his scrunched face = a bad day for you, though :(

Hope you find your "icon-fu" soon. It's very frustrating to have a creative block.

New pretty folders :) I've been (slowly) reading the paperlegends offerings. I'm finally using your wonderfully organized master posts on the comm to systematically read through all of them (well, the A/M ones - eventually I may get to the other pairings). I have 2 left to go on the A-Q post. The fics have just been wonderful! Thank you so much (again!) for organizing everything ♥

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I'm so glad you've found the organisation of the masterlists so useful and you're getting through them so well; hope you're enjoying them =)

From: [identity profile] prfctdaze.livejournal.com

Oh, I am, hon! I'm amazed at the level of talent in the Merlin fandom. So far, my favorite is the one by mellacita but they're all fantastic! It's been so much fun reading all the epicness (I don't know if that is an actual word, but I'm going to adopt it :)

*huuuuugs*

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

If you've almost finished that first page of entries, then you've read as many as me, probably, which is just brilliant! ♥

ha! Love the stress ball. I had one of those, though not so cute, many moons ago. I squished it to bits. :P

I didn't see the chile mine resucue, but they had a bit about it on the news. So nice to know they were all rescued. Good news seems so hard to come by these days.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

The mine rescue was so inspiring to watch, I was pretty much glued to it when I got home =)
