the_muppet: (Numb3rs ~ Don oral)

DO NOT read this if you haven't seen the episode yet ~ it will totally ruin it for you ~ you have been warned.  Watch 3x01 first.  In fact, go watch Seasons 1 & 2 first!  Go.  Now.

I should start by saying this is the best Numb3rs episode I've ever seen, and having now watched it twice I don't think there's a single scene or line of dialogue that wasn't great as far as I was concerned  :)

I wanted to try and pick out just a few of my favourite moments, then realised that I couldn't narrow it down that much, so this is about as narrow as I could make it, and not being as articulate as many on my flist any review I wrote would suck in comparison, so these are random scenes that made me very happy  :)

*  Colby finding out about Megan/Larry and being miffed to be the last to know.
*  emo!Larry ~ aw, he was so cut up about not protecting Megan
*  Don sending Edgerton in to get the information he wanted from Buck
*  David/Colby finding Megan's car, checking the boot, and the absolute relief on Colby's face that she wasn't in it
*  Don losing it (again) with Buck ~ really loving dark Don
*  Charlie explaining trawler theory and the conversation between Edgerton/Colby:
Edgerton = Anyone else following this?
Colby (with his eyes closed) = Just nod your head and wait for the punchline
*  More Don scowling, unshaven and pissed off ~ did I mention this is a good look for Don
*  Megan getting emotional at the hospital when thanking her team
*  Amita telling Charlie he makes massively egotistical assumptions ~ oh yeah, that made me laugh  :)
*  Larry helping Megan 'escape' from the hospital
*  The whole roadblock scene, despite the fact it was completely predictable, and I knew the shot would come from Don
*  Larry/Megan kiss and Larry's sweet expression afterwards  :)

So all these scenes I absolutely loved ~ and everything in between.  If this sets the standard for the rest of the season I will be very happy, though they've certainly set the bar pretty high  :)

Today I'm waiting for the TV repair guy to come pick up the TV and take it away to fix it.  So another day off work.  Which should be great but I feel lousy today  :/   When he's gone I might curl up on The Boy's bed (cos his is the only working TV I have right now) and watch .... something.

Amd am I the only person having a problem getting anything from Photobucket to load?  Several of my flist put up icons today, and I can see hardly any of them.  Hmph.

I agree with every point you made about Numb3rs. If the show is this good for the season, I may not mind the fact that I don't have a life on Friday nights because that way I can watch it all the more quickly.

Wasn't it great? I had to watch it again the same day and I still enjoyed it just as much :)

I wishI could do that. I erased it off the cable dvr right after I watched it. Space is so at a premium on that thing. I should probably download it, but the computer got down to 5% of its available hardrive and I am scared that it will happen again, so no downloading for me until I clean it off. I really need an external drive.

Well, when you have the space again, I posted the upload so help yourself :)

So sorry to hear that you and your TV are not feeling well! I've been totally knackered from 6-7 hours/day on ladders swinging paint brushes, scrapers, and rollers, but it's starting to look good around here. More importantly, the house will probably stay over my head for another year. There's much still to be done and my lungs continue to misbehave (just came back from the doc's). By the time I stumble into the house after dark, I'm just too pooped to write coherent e-mails, but it's supposed to rain, so maybe that will give me time to catch up. But, it's not raining now and there are no immediate threats, so I must get out there and work on the deck.....

Before I go, I don't watch N3, but s2 of Dr. Who just started in the States. I've only seen one ep, but David Tennant made me long for Christopher Eccleston. Does it get any better later in the season?

Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers daily!!! Feel better quickly, please...both you and your TV!!!!

Um, I guess S2 of Doctor Who does get better, but I'm not the fan, Peter is! He loved it as much as the first season, so yeah, stick with it :)

My TV will be fine as it's under warranty so won't cost me a penny, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get it fined! And I feel much better thanks ;)

Don't work too hard and completely wear yourself out before meeting RDA! :D

*hugs*

I loved the episode. I'm not yet certain that it's one of my favourites but I feel quite passionately about it because it showcases two of the characters that I'm most invested in. More than that, I thought Crystal Hoyle was a fabulous character.

Amita telling Charlie he makes massively egotistical assumptions Oh yeah. I don't even know, lol. I applauded her when she said that.

and I knew the shot would come from Don
I didn't see that coming at all. Maybe I was too mixed up writing the meta to think it through but that completely surprised me. I'm too nervous about what they might do with that storyline to be excited about it. I'm always worried that they won't quite pull it off.

But I loved the episode - you know I did. I loved just about everything in it, and that hospital scene was beautiful. Love.
