OK, time for me to look stupid (again!)  In order for me to keep THIS POST at the top of my journal I need to give it a future date, right?  Which, btw, I did, then things started going screwy  :/   Then if I do that, any future posts I make I have to click the backdate button when posting, yes?  Plus my calender then goes screwy (last time I dated the entry 2010 so that's what my calender shows) ~ any way round this, cos I'm sure I've seen it OK on other people's journals who've done this?  Is this all OK, or am I doing something wrong or missing something out?  For those of you that have done this, is this how you did it?

Also, anyone seen a SPN  "partly friends only" banner I could use yet?

If you figure it out, let me know... Mine's been showing Oct 25 since I made my journal friends only.

Yeah, that's what my problem was so I undid it, but I still want the post at the top. I'm sure someone on my flist found a way round this, just can't remember who :/

If I find a solution I'll let you know ;)

You should just be able to edit the entry and put the 'future' date at the top, then click on save entry.

For your next entries, you shouldn't have to click that backdate box.

As far as the calendar ...depending on the layout, it shows the most recent entry, so if you post something in 2010, that's the calendar that shows. I get around that by dating my sticky post for the end of the current month, and just change it (if I remember) every month.

If you have that auto back date entry thing checked, that might be what is messing up the rest of the journal.

I just thought maybe there was a way round it and I just didn't know what it was .... but maybe there isn't after all!

Thanks for the input ;)

Heya! ;)

I think I might be able to help you out ^^ If you notice on my LJ, I have at the top of my posts, a box (post) which leads to a post for people to comment to be added to my flist - and doesn't screw with the date. Although I am using 'Flexiable Squares', I'm sure they must have similar coding for 'Component', well hopefully they do.

If you like I can try and find the coding, and do a little walkthrough for you on how to use it :)

Let me know if you want me to do it, and it would be no trouble to do it for you after the next couple of days. I'm going down to mother-in-laws today, and later on I have dog training with Misty-dog, and tomorrow my Mum is coming down for the day. But after that I'm totally free ;) Anyway let me know, Ok!

*hugs*
P.s. Sorry for not replying to your last email yet, I'm going to try and reply later :)

Yes! I can so help you now :D

If you want I can include the coding for the edit and mem buttons (Just saw your post for today)...sorry I don't know the coding for the others, and I only can do the buttons as text, not buttons. If that makes sense. Also I can include tags as well, if you want that as well. Up to you.

I saw your header so pretty *hearts* So did you add the header using a theme layer. Just so I know how your doing it, and how much you know. Because that where your add the coding for the bits I mentioned.

Let's assume I'm completely clueless, shall we? Seriously, let's. I got the code for the header from [livejournal.com profile] s2howto and just pasted it where it needed to go ~ all I did was adjust the height. So I can copy and paste pretty well, if that helps! :D

Oh, don't worry about code for the little things I was moaning about, I don't really need them, thanks ;)

*hugs*
