I've been having trouble the last few days being able to leave a comment in certain places. Not everywhere, just a handful. And I think now that it's when I try to put a heart (&-hearts-;) in the comment. Anyone know why this would happen?!

Huh. I just tried it in an answer to this entry, and the comment never went anywhere. Weird. I wonder if it's a bug or if they have deliberately changed something to prevent those hearts (and I'll be very annoyed if it's the latter).

Oh, there's a note about it in the support page:

"Comments containing special ASCII characters (such as the 'hearts' character: ♥) are currently causing problems. Either the 'post comment' button will become grayed out, or you will receive a 'Frank's nibbling on the wires' error; in either case, the comment cannot be posted. Removing these special characters from your comment will allow you to post the comment. This issue is reported."

Thank you darling! And it took me two days to work out it was possibly the 'heart' that was causing it!

OMG thank you for pointing this out. The (seemingly) random errors I've been getting all weekend have been driving me completely bonkers! At least now I know what's going on. *hugs*

It's because you type in that to make the heart. stop doing it, and you won't have a problem.
