1) work: Work is still crappy, so nothing new there. One of our service users died 2 weeks ago, and I went to his funeral and burial last week. I was incredibly fond of Chris and it hit me quite hard.

2) holiday: Just had a long holiday from work (Weds 4th-Monday 16th) which is pretty unheard of for me; usually I just take a day or two at a time. The plan was for me and Peter to go to Devon for a few days to visit friends, but that didn't come off, so took the time anyway. Worked out pretty well and got a lot done, and I think the time away has done me some good.

3) cv: Have spent some of my time off writing up a CV for the first time in *coughs* years! Have also signed up now at 5 job sites so I get alerts if anything matches the job I'm looking for. It's going to be hard to find a job, for many reasons I won't bore you with, but at least I'm actively trying now. Fingers crossed.

4) mishap 1: I was peeling back an artex bubble on my lounge ceiling on Tuesday and part of the ceiling came down! Plaster everywhere! Luckily I'm friendly with the handyman guy who works for the freeholder of the building, and he's around this week, so he's going to come in and replaster it this afternoon for me for free. Lovely man =)

5) mishap 2: I fell down the stairs yesterday evening and have fucked up my ankle. Embarrassingly it wasn't even the main stairs (I live on the third floor) but just the three little stairs in my flat, that leads to the bedrooms. Still, I fell pretty awkwardly and it hurt like bugger, and for a while there I honestly thought I was going to pass out, which scared the crap out of me, as I knew that would scare Peter. Anyway, walking is painful, stairs are a bit of a killer (great when I live on the third floor), but driving is the least painful (just tested it). Only did a short drive in the car and although I can drive, it's really painful afterwards. Don't think anything is broken though, just hurts a lot. Peter laughed a lot (and is still laughing) and has taken to calling me stumpy. Great end to my holiday =)

6) medical: Have a lot of (non-serious) medical things going on right now, hence the absence. Trying to keep up with my flist though and hope you're all doing okay.

*love & hugs to you all*

::hugs:: I got your email the other day but haven't had a chance to look at it -- I will next week if that's still helpful?

When I tripped over my dog and sprained my ankle, I was told the best thing was to keep using it as normally as I could, even if it really hurt. The dog was, at least, remorseful. I don't think stairs feel remorse.

Sounds like it's been a bit of a rough few weeks; thinking of you, and hope things get better. Much love. xxx

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Next week is fine, thank you for taking the time =)

I think the best thing is just to keep using it, and then it'll get better on it's own. I'm sure it's just sprained or something.

Thanks lovely - also, I've missed our chats and I love your icon ♥

Hilarious so sorry I missed the fall, perhaps you could re-enact it when I come round next! I think Peter has hit upon a fabulous new user name for you. Welcome Stumpy. Am sure the rest of your flist will be much more supportive but made me laugh.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

See, if I had real friends I'd let them know when this kind of thing happened so they could be - you know - supportive or something =)

1) Good luck with the looking for work, must be tough during this period. And I'm sorry to hear about Chris, he sounded like he was someone that cheered you up when he was around

2) You know you don't necessarily need to go away to have a holiday. A relaxing time at home enjoying your company is just as good!

5) If it makes you feel any better.. I'm equally clumsy. I tripped UP a set of stairs and broke my thumb! I have learnt the value of opposeable limbs! Hopefully you start to feel better, and at least you got a good laugh out of it!

BTW i'm really sorry i didn't end up returning your survey.. by the time I'd realized you'd sent it, I had an exam the next week and I had full intentions of filling it out. but then, I forgot and by the time I had found it again, I figured it was too late. SORRY!

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Thank you - I did adore Chris and he was one of the ones I had a particular soft spot for and was most fond of.

I'm not usually very good at taking too many days off and relaxing at home, but I did pretty well this time, plus got lots of things ticked off my 'to do' list, which is always good =)

Don't worry at all about the survey, not a problem at all =)

*hugs*

Oh no comedy stair falling disasters, hope you are not in too much pain both from the ankle and being called stumpy and being laughed at, if it makes you feel better I completely did my side in leaning into the goats hay store so things like this happen to everyone. Lots of love from me and purple

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I'm sure you can imagine how much Peter is enjoying this =)

Got your email and meant to reply this morning, l then got caught up doing things for Peter (as usual). Will reply in a minute.

Hope your side is okay now, that sounds painful.

I was missing you already *hugs* Take care of that ankle, if it hurts too long go to a doctor, those things heal better if inmovilized.

From: [identity profile] heyhoolou.livejournal.com

I'm so glad to hear you've joined jobsites! I'll cross everything I can that something wonderful comes of it :)
Boo about the ankle though; I hope it gets better soon! And sorry to hear about the funeral. It's never fun *HUGS* ♥
Happy to see you pop up on the flist again ♥

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I have! I'm being all brave and grown-up and everything! You'd be so proud!

Thought I'd give posting a go again, see how it went. We'll see.

*hugs muchly*

Very annoying =)

Thank you - I don't hold out a lot of hope, but at least I'm putting myself out there and trying now, so fingers crossed.

*hugs*

From: [identity profile] corilannam.livejournal.com

Wow, you do have a lot going on there! I'm sorry about Chris and all the other difficulties. I hope you find a much better job soon!

And don't feel embarrassed about the ankle. I've done mine in dozens of times and it's usually while stepping off a curb or that very dangerous sport of walking in a straight line down a stretch of perfectly flat pavement.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Yeah, lot's going on, not all of it good. Still, things can only get better =)

It's annoying because it's my bad ankle - I was hit by a car as a kid and spent a long time in hospital and amongst my other injuries, the ankle I've hurt is the one that was pretty smashed up, so it's always been a little week anyway. Still, it'll get better and at least it's not broken!

Plus at least I legitimately feel down something this time - last time I fell in the flat there was nothing to trip me and I just feel whilst walking down my hallway, then sat there going 'ow'. Quite pathetic really =)

I'm sorry for your loss hon, having people around that you're fond of makes work a little better, I'm sure you'll miss him. Congrats though on the CV and everything! That's a big step forward and I hope something comes of it. Maybe the few days off work and at home paid off.

So frustrating (and dusty) when your floor is suddenly covered with your ceiling - it's great to hear you've got someone to fix it quickly.

*ouch* about the ankle - I would tell you to ice it but I don't want you falling off the chair and in the freezer trying to get your foot in there....

Painkillers and support, use it but strap it and I hope all the other things get sorted for you.

**huge big hugs**.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Well Lydio didn't turn up to fix it yesterday so I'm hoping he remembers about it soon, or that I see him again soon.

Ankle quite painful again this morning, but I think the more I walk on it the better it will be. I hope, anyway =)

*hugs loads*

Like I've said before, I really miss your presence, but rl is the priority, and I hope everything goes well for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle, I really hope it gets better soon!

I have something I need to send to you, but it'll have to wait until after next week, when I'm back in York and can live a normal life and do normal things again. Idk, when I'm at home I basically eat, sleep, go online, and do it all over again the next day, with the occasional trip to town. *facepalm* I don't have any wrapping paper, I don't have anything else yet that goes with the thing I got you from NYC (something small, nothing big - I wish I could've got you something bigger but I went for something simple), and worst of all, I KEEP FORGETTING WHERE THE POST OFFICE IS. Argh, lived here all my life, and yet never really lived here, because my parents always did everything for me. I had a very, very sheltered childhood, hah.

tl;dr. Basically, I WILL SEND YOU SOMETHING SOON, AND STAY WELL, MY DARLING, AND ILU. THE END.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I miss you guys too, so thank you ♥

I think it's pretty funny that you keep forgetting where your Post Office is! It's very kind of you to send me something and you know you really don't have to, right? =)

*hugs loads*

From: [identity profile] eyesofapanda.livejournal.com

It's pretty embarrassing, if anything! 18 years and still clueless. *sigh*

I know I don't have to! Just like you don't have to ever send me really lovely things that brighten my day a whole lot. It's the gesture, the kindness and thoughtfulness of it, your sheer generosity. Seriously, I want to, and I hope that the little things I can do (not as often as I find the time to, either) will bring something to your everyday life. (:

*hugs*

Good luck for finding a new - and good - job!

Be careful with stairs, poor ankles! If they still hurt, show them to a doctor, please! One of my husband's friends, who is a surgeon told a story about women with broken legs, still walking on their own feet to the hospital. Weird.

Take care of yourself! *HUGS*

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I'll see how it is Monday - if it's still painful then maybe I'll go to the GP and get it checked =)

*hugs*

From: [identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com

**hugs**

I'm glad you took a break form work, and are actively trying to find a new job. Good for you! **high five**

Sorry to hear about the mishaps. I hope your ankle feels better soon! Try and rest it as much as you can, which I'm sure you're doing already.

I feel you on the medical front. I have two medical appointments in the come week, which should hopefully lead to some treatment plans. *sigh*

**more hugs, since there is no such thing as too many hugs**

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I think the rest has done me good and even though it was a lot of time for me to take, I'm glad I did =)

Ankle was worse this morning but have more movement in it this evening, even if it is more swollen now!

Hope your medical appointments go well lovely ♥

*hugs*

From: [identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com

Well, hopefully your ankle will heal on it's own. If it is really bruised of discolored looking, you might want to get it looked at, as that is a sign of a break (since all the marrow leaks out.)

I hope they go well too. I am so bored and want to get back to school!!!! Also I want to not be in pain anymore, that would be good too :-)

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

No bruising or discolouring, still pretty swollen but more movement today - think it'll be okay eventually =)

From: [identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com

Then it is likely not broken :-) I hope to feels back to normal sooner rather than later!

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Thank you! Feels better each day (less pain) I just want the ugly swelling to go away now!

From: [identity profile] adelagia.livejournal.com

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your ankle, hon. Hope it heals quickly!

I'm glad to hear that you took all that time off despite the trip not working out after all. You totally work too hard, even on things that are not actually work-related :) Although I'm sure that puts you in good stead for the job hunt. Anyone should be so lucky to have you working for them!

♥♥♥

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Obviously that lottery win is preferable, resulting in holiday after holiday and obviously a trip out to see you!

Ankle okay, still pretty swollen but less painful today.

Very sorry to hear about the service user :(

Yay for holidays! Also, you have my best wishes for the job search and utter confidence you'll find one - you are awesome, and I'm sure that will be recognized :)

O.o and sympathy for the mishaps, I hope the handyman managed to repair the ceiling and your ankle is getting better! And your health in general, of course.

*squeezes*

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

My handyman didn't turn up so ceiling still not fixed, though the ankle hurts less now and I'm waling better than I was on it.

Thank you lovely ♥

Oh, that's a bummer :( I hope you'll manage to reschedule with him soon, stuff like that is not very easy to fix yourself. Or at least I imagine so. I may be the most impractical person in the whole world, or at least my general area...

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

It all depends on when I see him next - I don't really see him around here very often, so I don't really know.

From: [identity profile] prfctdaze.livejournal.com

Oh, I hope your ankle is better!

I'm sorry to hear of Chris' passing. *hugs*

Best of luck on the job hunt!!

*hugs* Just cos!
Hope your ankle heels quick-smart!
