1) icons: I've made a huge load of icons in the last week or so. Have kept 84 and deleted at least as many again. Hoping my icon-fu is back this time. For some stupid reason I always think Thursday will be a popular day to do my icon posts, comments-wise. Will post them tomorrow and we'll see, I guess.

2) reading: Set myself a target of reading 3 of the [livejournal.com profile] paperlegends BB fics this weekend as Peter wasn't around, and I did it. Have now read 25 in total so at least I'm over halfway. Also made the time to re-read (again!) one of my absolute favourite stories ever; What Child is This by [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse. I can't even begin to tell you how happy this story makes me and if you've not read it yet, you should!

3) bathroom: I now have a bathroom ceiling again. The freeholder, as I've mentioned before, is a pig of a man who insisted he wouldn't claim it on the insurance but would get his handymen to do it and that they would only plasterboard it and basically just 'make it right'. I know his handymen though and get on well with them, and they have now also plastered and artexed it and said they'll try and come back and paint the whole bathroom. Before and after pics:

4) halloween: Halloween is my favourite holiday. I spent years and years taking my little brothers trick-or-treating but now they're all way too old for that, I'm instead looking forward to this weekend of pumpkin carving and horror movie watching with Peter. Usually at work I'll also get to do some pumpkin carving with the service users, but there's not been time this year, and Peter says he want's me to carve a 'traditional' pumpkin this year i.e. triangles for eyes and a zig-zag mouth. As I told him, he is stifling my creativity, and below are the pumpkins I carved at work last year as proof:

Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween weekend ♥

MUPPET!!! I MISS YOUR POSTS! (Not that I'm one to talk...)

1) ICONS YAY!

2) I still haven't read any of the BB fics. I feel like a bad person. But yesterday while sitting in traffic (AGAIN), I got this sudden overwhelming urge to reread the fic from last year's BB where Merlin's magic is discovered and there is like this magic proof room and manacles or something? Which one is that? I need to make time for that this weekend.

3) I had no idea you were having bathroom ceiling issues. I missed a lot while on vacation. I'm glad it's all being sorted out, despite the other person.

4) I actually kind of hate Halloween. I'm not sure when that happened, because I used to love it. Now I just like the candy and pumpkins. Clearly I need you to kick me into the spirit! Your jack o' lanterns are fabulous, by the way. Love the witch on the end.

I hope you enjoy the party =)

I'm glad too, and very pleased with how it's turned out =)

The ceiling is much better than I imagined it would be, so I'm pleased =)

I KNOW, RIGHT?! I'll whine about it but end up doing what he wants; I always do =)

Your costume idea is brilliant, hope you have a great time =)

I know. I'm sorry. I'm trying, honestly, but most of the time I just like *shrugs* so I have to pick my time to post, and think of something remotely intersting to say.

1) *nervous*

2) THAT WAS MY FAVOURITE ONE FROM LAST YEAR! I'll send you the link later ;)

3) I've been posting about it since it happened last November! *hugs you*

4) I've always loved Halloween, I suppose because I always got to spend it with my little brothers and they always had such a great time. Christmas I've always ben a bit whatever about, mostly because I spend it on my own. For the first time ever this year, though, Peter will be with me Xmas day, which will be lovely =)

CARVE A PUMPKIN! IT'LL MAKE YOU HAPPY!

Okay, so serious quizzy question... What is it like in your part of the world around end of April/early May? And would you be there? Possible holiday-type plans are afoot. :)

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Probably warming up a bit around then. And I'm always there, I never go anywhere =)

Early days yet, but the timing is looking good. I have a friend (previously Yokiem on LJ) who is moving to Scotland and [livejournal.com profile] derry667 will be in London and amenable to sharing accommodations. I figure I can train over to you from London or hire a car. So, I just have to figure out how to hit Ireland and Wales and I can see everything. lol. I'd love to see Cardiff and all the Dw/TW landmarks. *geeky* And maybe see the castles form Merlin. :)

It's a thing in progress, but so far it's a nice looking thing.

I wondered where Yokiem had disappeared to =)

Train from London would be easier, it's 2 hours from London straight through to Bournemouth. I wouldn't want to drive it, too complicated and would take far longer than 2 hours. Up to you though, of course =)

Those are cool pumpkins ^__________^ and I'm glad your ceiling is being fixed.

From: [identity profile] kimberweeme.livejournal.com

I just feel like my life is too stressful right now, and no one else needs to be bothered. So I only post every so often. Sigh.

3) Wait, really? Then I guess I probably did know about it. My memory, it is going! Now I'm really glad it's being sorted. What a hassle home repairs are.

4) See, and my family is just the opposite. Thanksgiving and Christmas are a huge deal, but Halloween isn't all that important. So I always just want to skip right over October and move on to November and December.

My friend is having a pumpkin carving party tomorrow! I may carve a pumpkin for the first time in, wow, years and years!

*hugs and hugs*

I'll keep that in mind. Early days, so I haven't got anything (even the dates) set in stone, but I'm liking the idea immensely and I got the boss to say the timing was okay with my workplace. :)

Yay! for the ceiling being fixed :)

Have a great Halloween! ♥

THOSE PUMPKINS! *gasp* THEY ARE AMAZING - LOOK AT ALL YOUR PUMPKIN TALENTS. PEOPLE AT WORK SHOULD APPRECIATE. (late comment is late.)

Yay for the fixed ceiling =D

The pumpkin on the right so cool! =)

Oh and thanks for the fic rec... I hadn't read that fic by [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse. It was so LOVELY OMG. ♥_____♥ A lovely way to spend my day off.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

REALLY?!

I don't have an all-time favourite fic, but if I absolutely had to pick, say, 5 then that would be there =)

I know! I can't believe I missed it. It was published in Feb and I had a lot of issues in feb... job heartache and was ill and had to take a fair while off of work. Not much interested in reading anything, just watched Supernatural off the net. But what surprises me is that no one mentioned this sooner. :/

To put you on the spot: WHAT ARE YOUR TOP FIVE MERLIN/ARTHUR FICS. (For the purposes of this question, lets imagine I have a gun to your head or something evil like that.) I'm kinda wondering if there's anything else I've missed...

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

To ACTUALLY pick my top 5 I would 1) have to have a gun pointed at my head (which is almost the phrase I was going to use in my earlier comment and 2) have a bit of a trawl through my Delicious bookmarks and then agonize for (probably) hours.

Here's my tag of Merlin recs, and if you scroll down a little there's a whole heap I recced in April. And another big fic rec dump in January too.

Other than that, you should check out my Delicious bookmarks, and there's quite a variety of tags there to help you narrow it down =)

But. That's not really helpful to you right now so.... off the top of my head here's some I'd tell you to read RIGHT NOW if you haven't already:

Two Weeks Notice
There's No MakeBelieving
What's a Boy To Do...
Lovestruck (love this a stupid amount)
Think Less and See it Grow
Lemon Meringue

Enough for now? If you've read all them, let me know and I'll try harder.

OR! Come stay at Hotel Muppet sometime and spend time laying around eating chocolate and browsing through these:
