1) hospital: Had my pre-surgical assessment at the hospital on Monday which was okay, though I still don't have a date for the actual surgery. The woman I spoke to today in the surgical booking office said they've had a lot of emergencies recently and my surgery might not happen now until December/January. I'm obviously very disappointed at this, but as I've waited literally years and years for them to do this full reconstructive surgery - as opposed to the regular shoring up (which is how I think of it) surgeries they've done over the years in the meantime - then I suppose I can wait just a couple more months.

2) freezer: Got home from the hospital Monday evening to find that my freezer door hadn't closed properly on Sunday and literally everything was ruined and had to be thrown out. Really didn't need that right now.

3) bathroom: Haven't had any more leaking in the bathroom since Sunday, but that's probably only because it hasn't really rained since then. Am now using pillowcases there to cover up the hole, and they're proving to be effectively absorbent. I'm nothing if not classy resourceful.

4) beach: Deb and I took a couple of service users out for lunch at Urban Reef this afternoon, which is a lovely place right down on the edge of my beach. After, we walked along the shore for a while, so here's some more random beach photo's for those of you who are interested:

Hope you're all doing okay ♥

1) I hope they'll do the surgery soon and you won't have to wait much longer.

2) Aw, that really sucks. =/ *hugs*

3) I'm glad the leaking has stopped. I really hope it won't happen again the next time it rains!

4) Yay, beach pictures! As always, I love them. :) ♥

1) I think the longer I wait, the more anxious I get, even though this is the one I've waited for all this time. SO FRUSTRATING!

Glad you liked the pictures =)

It sucks that you have to wait for the surgery but at least it will be done. Those pictures are really lovely.

DOn't worry too much, December is almost here.*hugs*
Your pictures are amazing!

From: [identity profile] aramley.livejournal.com

It sucks that they're making you wait longer for the surgery again, but at least this time you know you're going to get the one you need *hugs*

Those pictures are gorgeous! :)

I just want it over and done with and I am so, so tired of waiting.

Thanks hon ♥

I'm glad your appointment went okay :) And I'm glad you're finally going to get the surgery you've wanted!

That restaurant sounds lovely. Whenever it is that I get to visit Hotel Muppet, I'm totally taking you out for lunch there (or to another place, if you prefer!) No is not an option!!

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I'll definitely hold you to that as I can't afford to eat there myself (except the occasional bowl of chips) so that would be lovely!

From: [identity profile] accordingtomel.livejournal.com

1 - That sucks that you have to wait. Even if you have been waiting for a long time already, it is still annoying, regardless, if you have to continue to do so. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're able to get in sooner rather than later *hugs* :)

2 - Boo-urns. That SUCKS. So sorry to hear about the freezer :P

3 - You live in a flat, don't you? Why isn't your landlord fixing your bathroom? Isn't that his/her job? (And forgive me... you probably answered this a LOOOOONG time ago, but I can't remember that far back, LOL!) Still... I'm glad to hear that at least it hasn't leaked any more than before :)

4 - Gorgeous pictures, as always! I love the beach so much! :)

*sending you love and positive thoughts* ♥

I really do hate having to wait for this, considering just how long I've already waited. Still, nothing I can do about that, I suppose.

The freeholder of the building should be fixig it, yes, but 1) I need to try and pay this years maintenance bill before I even ask him and 2) even when I've done that he's notoriously crap at getting anything done, so it'll still be weeks and maybe months of me chasing and hassling him.

Thanks hon ♥

random fly by hugs

I'm currently battling my freezer, the ice is building up, I've been meaning to defrost it totally for month ... ooops

I keep flooding my bathroom....silly cow that I am....over flowing bath twice in one week...ooops

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Well I suppose at least this way I was forced into defrosting mine =)

You want to be careful about water damage if you're going to keep doing that!

From: [identity profile] psycho-warbaby.livejournal.com

Hope your doing okay, and the surgery occurs sooner rather than later.

That beach looks lovely! If you ever come to Australia, there are many a beaches that you'd love too!

*HUGS*

?? Hospital? :( I'm sorry to hear they're being twits about it though *hugs*
But yay for the non-leaky bathroom! And the pictures are so gorgeous.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Yep, hospital.

Well so far so good with the bathroom, though I'm now fully expecting water next time it rains. Damn it.

Thanks hon ♥

From: [identity profile] heyhoolou.livejournal.com

Oh! Well, I'm glad they're at least finally going to do it proper, by the sound of it. I'll cross my fingers for as little wait as possible.*squish*

Boo hiss. Though at least now you know so you can take precautions? It's a shitty comfort, but hey, eternal optimist here ;)

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Eternal optimist here too, which can occasionally also mean burying my head in the sand =)

From: [identity profile] chratz.livejournal.com

omg, those pictures are beautiful. It really makes me envy you. I wish we had a beach. but since I live in central europe, we don't *sigh*

I wish you all the best for your surgery and I hope, you'll get it soon. Sorry about your bathroom business. but at least it's only the bathroom right? my uncle had water damages and it ruined his whole flat. :( so sorry about your freezer.

mine died last year, so we had to buy a new one, which really sucked.

*hugs*

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I always think those photos are pretty boring, but I'm glad people like them!

Well if I can't get that bathroom ceiling sorted soon, I am very worried that the whole lot might come down. Still, no point worrying over it right now.

From: [identity profile] prfctdaze.livejournal.com

Good to hear the pre-assessment went ok. I hope you won't have to wait so long for the surgery, but at least you know December/January isn't too far off. *hugs*

That sucks about the freezer! ARGH :(

Looking at the restaurant site makes me hungry :) And the beach photos are lovely. ♥

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I guess I'm just impatient =)

Thanks hon - and I'm glad you liked the photos too ♥

From: [identity profile] padfootie.livejournal.com

Lovely place!

The thing with the food sucks and I'm crossing my fingers for a relatively early surgery! *hugs*

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

Yes, the food thing is a real blow right now, but hey-ho.

Thanks so much sweetie ♥

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

1. I must admit to being curious, but also knowing it's none of my business as to why you've needed/still need all the surgery. I can't even imagine the strain it must put on you over the years. *hugs* I hope you get the surgery you've hoped for soon.

2. Damn. :(

3. Eeep. Could you not somehow get the SES or someone to shore it up from the roof with some plastic sheeting or somthing? Water coming in doesn't sound all that healthy. *Hugs* You are resourceful though.

4. You live in such a great spot.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

1) Short answer: hit by a car at 6, nose mended in hospital but they screwed it up. Said they couldn't operate again till it had stopped growing (16 years old) and at that point they'd do reconstructive surgery. when the time came (to save money) they did a shoring up job instead which failed. They then repeatedly did these because the first one failed. They all failed. Now have a surgeon willing to do the full reconstructive surgery. Ta-da!

3) Have written to the freeholder politely demanding they get it sorted. He's notoriously crap though so it could take months...

From: [identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com

freeholder? I don't know that term. Is that like a landowner or something? Housing seems all very different in the UK. Renting especially, but I know you own the place, right?

Sorry, Lizzie = curious bunny

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I live in a large house with 7 flats. I own one of the flats and am the leaseholder for that flat. This other guy owns the house itself and 6 of the flats and is therefore the freeholder and responsible for all external work.

Hope that helps =)

From: [identity profile] misswinterhill.livejournal.com

This is me, catching up! I will laugh so hard if we're surgery buddies! But mine will be keyhole. We can compare hospital food.

Ugh, freezer. Hope it (and the leak!) is behaving now!
