1) computer: Having spent the last week or so searching for a new base unit with my friend Brian (who knows way more about all this than me and who helped me find my old computer) we've now decided that he's going to build me one, which will work out slightly cheaper and actually be better than anything we've found so far. Still be craploads of money I don't have, so the bank will own yet another piece of my soul, but at this point I'm so broke anyway it's sort of irrelevant just how huge my overdraft will be. EXCITING THOUGH!

2) paperlegends: Writer sign-ups will close on Friday so please spread the word. If you need prompts, there's some great ones here! SINGING IN THE RAIN! TOP GUN!

3) fringe: I'm a little sad that this season of Fringe is almost over and I think that the episode White Tulip actually broke my heart a little at the end; John Noble is such a good actor. Still, we have a Season 3 to look forward to =)

I've honestly got nothing to talk about - except maybe to tell you my computer update - but I'm trying to make an effort to post more again.

Hope you're all well ♥

Hello there! So glad to hear things are happening on the computer front, though there are difficulties along with the excitements. Having one built for you strikes me as rather marvellous! :-D

Hope you're well, too, hon. ♥

As building a computer is the best decision, if you want a new one, it'll be definitely cheaper AND better. Yay! paperlegends! BTW, I like the name.:) I hope you're doing well. *hugs*

am slightly overwhelmed by the number of sign ups. but yay, paperlegends!

1 - Yay! I hope that works well for you. Sorry that it's spending money you don't really have though :/. But at least you'll have a computer n ow *hugs* :)

2 - Already signed up and even started writing! I'm hoping to have at least 5k done by the end of this month, possibly more! :)

3 - Fringe has been wicked awesome this season!! I don't want it to end either, because it's honestly one of the best acted and well-written shows I've seen in a loooong time. Also, John Noble needs to win all kinds of awards for his awesomeness *nods* :)

Hi! Hi!

1) It's good that you have Brian to sort all this out. I know nothing about building computers (or the internal workings of computers, in general). Yay good friends with useful skills!

2) Someone MUST write the Singing in the Rain AU. MUST.

*hugs*

yay new computer :D. that's so cool that you have a friend who can build you one.

i'm sad that fringe is nearly over, too. but still kinda stunned that it will go into its third season! i was sure it would be cancelled after just a few episodes. it's such a good show and i wish more people on my flist were watching and talking about it.

1) Building a computer is most definitely better. I wanted my dad to do that for me last year, but he ended up just modding his old computer. You can really get it geared for your needs. And YAY for getting that done \o/

3) Ugh - I have yet to catch up on the show. I'll have to start downloading like crazy!

i hope to see you posting more.

((HUGS))

white tulip did the same to me.

I've personally had much better experiences with personally built computers than ready-made computers, so I fully agree with your choice :) When you do it that way you don't have to pay for the not-quite-good-enough pieces you would have had to exchange anyway and you also don't have to pay extra for stuff that's way better than what you actually need :) And at least around here there's usually so much useless stuff thrown in to make it seem like a good buy, when in actuality the extra stuff just doesn't sell on its own but gives them a good excuse to raise the price a bit... Although with self-built computers (or with changing parts to store-bought one) it's always good to remember that "You can't put it in wrong" is sometimes way too optimistic a statement :P Just saying in case you feel any urge to offer to help to put it together :) I sure won't do that mistake for a second time...

Just in case LJ messages are being wonky, I'm leaving a comment here. My answer is YES! to your question. :-)

Chosing and getting the parts separately is always better and cheaper ;D Besides this way you get exactly what you want and need.

Good luck with your new computer!!!!

A muppet post! :D

Exciting news about the computer. Sometimes it's good to just put the cost out of your mind and dwell on the good news of a new shiny computer built especially for you! It's so cool your friend knows about those sorts of things :)

I'm playing around with an idea for the bb. The deadline is looming so I'll have to decide pretty quickly if I want to commit to it. BTW is there a specific time on the 14th that sign-ups close? I mean, like midnight GMT or something like that?

One of my friends was just telling me tonight that I need to watch Fringe. She recently bought the season 1 dvd set so I think I might borrow it from her. Lost will be over soon and I'll need something else to watch :)

Hope things are all right with you, sweetie ♥
