Being productive. Ish.

1. I've had the last three days off work (back tomorrow) and have been fairly productive in a happily geeky sort of way. I've managed to achieve:

a) learning layer masks in Photoshop with the wonderful help of from_the_corner and suzyx who managed to send me idiot-proof guides that even I can understand so they deserve some sort of award for that at least =)

b) sorting out all my Delicious bookmarks and doing a massive overhaul of the tags. Might have got a little carried away with that. Oops. Then I realised I couldn't bookmark all the fics I have printed out as I lent loads to pixiesparkle6 and she won't return them is still reading some of them.

c) did a new banner for paper_packages and also re-did my profile layout which took me frickin ages as I had to play around with some of the code to get it just how I want it. Hope it looks okay, I can only see it in IE so if it sucks, please let me know. Also my default icon may change sporadically over the next few days whilst I try to decide which one I want. Am not good with choice. EDIT: Apparently if you view my profile in FireFox it's screwed up at the top of the page so I've deleted it for now - if anyone knows how to fix this I'd really appreciate the help - thanks =)

d) did a bunch of comms stuff - tagging, posting, vid watching - and am pretty much up-to-date on all of them now. Which will hopefully please Team Awesome =)

2. Spent about an hour on the phone last night with purplella which of course was lovely but always makes me think how much I miss her. *sighs* She also wants some beach pics and I know some of you want some surfer boy pics so next time I'm down there - probably this weekend - I'll get some. Also some of the new Baywatch shacks which have sprung up between the two piers because they're lolarious. Well, they are to me. When Emma and I were down there last week we were discussing the potential hotness (or not) of the lifeguards who'll be manning these shacks. She is not optimistic.

3. deans_babe is coming round tonight to finish watching S1 of Merlin. She has 4 more episodes to watch including the double-bill of slashy gayness that is 1x10 & 1x11. You can picture me grinning, right?

4. Hardly watched any shows lately, except for the last two episodes of Fringe. Whilst Olivia still annoys the hell out of me with the way she talks, this is rendered unimportant because of 1) the hotness of Pacey and 2) the complete and utter awesomeness of Walter.

5. Dragged myself away from the computer last night to watch The Notebook which is just wonderful. And Ryan Gosling, how are you so pretty?

Hm. I use Firefox and it doesn't look like there's a banner on paper_packages at all -- it looks like it's just the default refried (is that what it's called?) theme.

And your profile's just text, is that right?

When you talk about paper_packages are you talking about the layout or the profile page - I meant the profile page, as I don't have a header on the layout.

And my profile has now been deleted for now, as apparently in FireFox it was completely screwing up the page, and I've no idea why =(

c) I actually followed the link for profile codes that's at the bottom of your layout and am using one of those which I fiddled with a little to change the alignment, etc, but apparently in FireFox it totally screws it up and cuts off the top of my profile page - which is bizarre. Do you know much about profile codes and how to fix this? *is hopeful*

I think because mostly I write mid- to longish entries - whereas a lot of other people just write short ones - and I suppose I just assumed people would appreciate it being cut rather than a big spiel on their flist...

Personally, I prefer to see the entry or know what it is about without having to click the cut (and open it in another window etc)- especially when I'm really busy (as I seem to be all the time lately :() and only have time to skim my flist.
Though, since it's just you who is doing it that way, I don't really mind, since I can be bothered to open your entries in another window. It would only be problematic if my whole flist did it that way. ;)
Anyway, i was just curious, because I was wondering if there was a particular reason behind the cutting. :)

Btw, does that mean that you would prefer if longer entries are cut? ;)
