Time for an overdue update apparently... not that I've got much to say, or I might have had but have just forgotten it all, as it's been a little while. So leaving out the emo crap and the TMI, here goes...

1. Emma can't play tennis right now as she had a little car accident (she's okay) so instead we've been keeping busy with beach walks, which has been pretty lovely actually. We even went last Friday when it was kinda raining, and though we didn't go far that day it was nice to check out what's going on down there, as they've restarted work on the surf reef now winter is over. There's a whole redevelopment going on too just along from the pier opposite where the reef will be, called The Overstrand, and it looks like they're including a surf school there, which Emma thinks would be a good idea to check out and give it a try. I'm thinking maybe not. The whole not being able to swim and being afraid of water being big factors in that. A few surfers out too that day and I forgot my camera (dammit) so maybe next time I'll include more surfer boy pictures if anyone's interested?

2. I seem to have struck some people dumb today as I'm actually - y'know - dressed like a girl. *rolls eyes* That's fine, I like struck dumb. It's the people who feel the need to comment on it - when they really should know better knowing how self-conscious I get - who need to just stop now with the comments of how nice/pretty/girly I look and how much pink suits me. Yes, I am a girl. Yes, I do wear girly clothes sometimes. Yes, I know it's a bit of a shock for you. And yes, I will be back in my hoodie and Chucks tomorrow.

3. They're playing the Sound of Music soundtrack in the session outside my office right now. I really need to stop singing.

4. [livejournal.com profile] paper_packages now has 200 members which is frickin amazing - thank you so, so much to those of you on my flist who are members over there too, I appreciate your support more than I can say =) Making icons has become my happy place lately - as you know - so thank you - and to those of you who continue to pimp the place, I love you muchly =) ♥

5. If you've haven't watched this yet then go do it now. Totally wonderful and will leave you amazed and smiling. It did for me =)

6. My love for all things Merlin - and in particular Colin Morgan (glorious ears and all) - knows no bounds. Still. Just saying.

7. Y'know there are shedloads of Merlin fics I could/should be reccing but as it's been quite a while since I updated, I'll just stick with these three =)

Three Tasks by [livejournal.com profile] syllic
Arthur is the Royal Arbiter for Suitable Suitors' Disputes. He (and his trusty companion, the golden-dragon-tasselled hat) alone can determine who is fit to woo royal servants and other assorted courtiers in Uther's court. (In light of the sentence above, the following may not appear to be a truthful statement, but: not as cracky as that makes it sound. Really.) Part One: Arthur arbitrates a dispute (with heretofore unforeseen wisdom); Merlin observes. In Part Two: in a Rather Predictable Set of Events, Merlin becomes the object of a Suitable Suitors' Dispute. Arthur attempts to arbitrate. This time, he does not do so well.
{ PG-13/R | Merlin/Arthur }
(I love this story So. Damn. Much. Arthur's attachment to his lilac robes is bordering on the hilarious but also his attempts to do the right thing by Merlin is both sweet and touching.)

Obeisance by [livejournal.com profile] casspeach
It's not that Arthur won't share his toys, just that he expects to get them back undamaged
{ PG-13 | Merlin/Arthur }
(Protective!Arthur... do I need to say more?)

The RPS Compartment - stories by [livejournal.com profile] mrs_leary
I always look forward to reading anything posted by [livejournal.com profile] mrs_leary - she writes wonderful Colin/Bradley RPF and you should definitely check out her stories - I love her characterizations of the boys and all of her fics are personal favourites of mine... she even wrote one for me called Murphy's Law which obviously made me squee like an idiot! Wonderful storytelling so go check it out =) She's also been wonderfully supportive of [livejournal.com profile] paper_packages so for that - and the wonderful stories you write which I so look forward to - thank you hon ♥

Hope you're all doing okay =)

Hee! I know this is a very belated reply... but I just had to squee a bit about you having such a wonderful boss. I've only once in my life had a boss with whom I was totally open about what I wrote - and in fact she's still one of my few Very Bestest Friends - but alas she wasn't actually personally interested in the slash... :-( I wish you and pixiesparkle6 many fun times with the slash!
