Just as a follow up I suppose to the post [livejournal.com profile] starrylizard made yesterday concerning The Roadhouse forum - I'd just like to be sure people are aware that I too am no longer actively involved in this forum - for the same reasons as SL for the most part - and am only checking there periodically for any vids that might have been posted so I can list them on The Impala. I wouldn't want people going there and thinking I'm not bothering to do anything, or taking my responsibilities seriously, when actually I'm just not involved right now. And I know nothing more than SL has already stated in her post, I'm afraid. Sorry. I am of course continuing all my work with both Kawoosh! and The Impala and the other sites I co-run associated with these sites as listed on my profile page. So if you have Supernatural vids you'd like listed on The Impala, could you please just carry on doing it the usual way via the submission form.

I'd also just like to thank [livejournal.com profile] starrylizard for everything she did over there whilst we were working there together, and for everything since - she was, and is, amazing - thank you.

Thank you and sorry for any confusion that has arisen.

like I said before, I think the Roadhouse was, still is, a great idea, but if it doesn`t work, for whatever the reason, then you have to do what you have to do *or so*

I think you do an awesome job with the Impala archive anyway. And I can hardly magine how much work is involved to keep this running, and Kawoosh!.

In my book you`re just great for doing this *hugs you*

You told me about the Roadhouse at one point, I am actually not that much around the Roadhouse, though I think it was a great idea... You do an amazing and dedicated job with the Impala and Kawoosh... thank you for all of this hon, you are made of awsome (and so not only just for those reasons).

*hugs you tight*

Thank you hon - I didn't really know what to say, but after chatting with SL thought I should say something to avoid any further confusion. Nuh.

*hugs hard back*

So this is totally off topic, but did you ever post a Breaking Dawn reaction? There was a week or so right after it came out when, for various reasons, I wasn't keeping up with my flist at all.

I didn't finish it, but I know everthing that happens and I'm curious to see what you thought.

From: [identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com

I didn't - because of all the wank that was going on with the people who hated it - and okay, I could see the points they were making and why, but some of the stuff I was reading on the various comms was getting pretty out of order, and if you dared to air even one positive opinion, you were pretty much shot down as an idiot by some of the more opinionated people. So no, I didn't post anything about what I thought. Though - I guess - maybe I should now things have calmed down a little =)

Nice icon btw ;)

Ah, I see. I understand why you wouldn't. I mean, I didn't personally like the book enough to finish it and I'll tell anyone who asks a list of reasons why, but I know a number of people who really enjoyed it. I'm just curious as to why different people like it or dislike it. It seems everyone has their own reasons.

I will say that I love the 1-star reviews on Amazon. Some of them are actually well thought out, which is unexpected. I don't usually agree with everything they say, but they bring up good points.

That being said, I've read some really nasty posts about the book (and the series in general). One I read was written by another author and was so poorly researched, with basic facts wrong, that I honestly think it was just a personal attack on Stephenie Meyer and the LDS religion. (I'm LDS and I can tell you that Meyer being Mormon has nothing to do with the books at all.)

It's sad that people can't be more mature in expressing their opinions. If someone enjoyed the book, is that really a reason to criticize them? It says absolutely nothing about their reading tastes in general. I watch some pretty stupid movies on a fairly regular basis, should I be penalized for that?

Woah, that comment got away from me. Sorry!

(RE: the icon. Isn't Joe Flanigan so pretty?)

Absolutely. It certainly above and beyond fulfilled the crack quota I wanted, but I do now see it as a book apart from the other three, as it was just so wildly different and off course from them. But honestly, all I wanted was more crack, and I got that, so *shrugs* yeah, for the most part I did enjoy it =)

*hugs*

And yes, Joe is very, very pretty =P

Hey hun - thanks for the heads up. I'll still post to The Impala. (I've got a couple to post). You've done an amazing job getting so many people to post there and it's a great place to achive also.

I have no idea what the story is with The Roadhouse - but it's tough, I suppose, when there are other similar forums that are very well established, to get something up and running. Of course it takes a long time and I imagine a lot of work to maintain such a site.

All the best.
xx

It wasnt's something I'd been involved in the setting up of so it was particularly difficult on me and SL to be the only ones there keeping things going - which is really a simplified version of why we both stopped. Not that it was an easy decision on my part, for lots of more complicated reasons.

Thanks for your nice words though, and your appreciation of The Impala - that does mean a lot to me as I do work hella hard on that and am extremely proud of it =)

*hugs*

Yeah, it is, but as SL already said in her comment, we weren't the ones running it and we didn't know what was going on, so there was only so much we could do and/or were prepared to do.

From: [identity profile] meg-tdj.livejournal.com

*confused* Who was running it? I was under the impression that it was something the two of you had done.
