It'll be Peter's first camera, so I'm not overly worried about all the gizmo's and stuff, just something reliable and easy for him to use. I think that as I only ever had one camera myself (sadly no longer working) and that one was a Canon, then that's probably what I'll go for, provided I can find a good one in the cheap price range, of course!
