1) icons: I've made a huge load of icons in the last week or so. Have kept 84 and deleted at least as many again. Hoping my icon-fu is back this time. For some stupid reason I always think Thursday will be a popular day to do my icon posts, comments-wise. Will post them tomorrow and we'll see, I guess.

2) reading: Set myself a target of reading 3 of the [livejournal.com profile] paperlegends BB fics this weekend as Peter wasn't around, and I did it. Have now read 25 in total so at least I'm over halfway. Also made the time to re-read (again!) one of my absolute favourite stories ever; What Child is This by [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse. I can't even begin to tell you how happy this story makes me and if you've not read it yet, you should!

3) bathroom: I now have a bathroom ceiling again. The freeholder, as I've mentioned before, is a pig of a man who insisted he wouldn't claim it on the insurance but would get his handymen to do it and that they would only plasterboard it and basically just 'make it right'. I know his handymen though and get on well with them, and they have now also plastered and artexed it and said they'll try and come back and paint the whole bathroom. Before and after pics:

4) halloween: Halloween is my favourite holiday. I spent years and years taking my little brothers trick-or-treating but now they're all way too old for that, I'm instead looking forward to this weekend of pumpkin carving and horror movie watching with Peter. Usually at work I'll also get to do some pumpkin carving with the service users, but there's not been time this year, and Peter says he want's me to carve a 'traditional' pumpkin this year i.e. triangles for eyes and a zig-zag mouth. As I told him, he is stifling my creativity, and below are the pumpkins I carved at work last year as proof:

Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween weekend ♥

Ah, yes, the big bang fics have been great.

If you've time for a short but hot AND sweet piece, you can't go wrong with Heartbeats which is a little bit Merlin-meets-Greys-Anatomy, except AMAZING.

I'm already late for my pilates class, so just quick hugs and yay! for the ceiling =D

You are such a champion pumpkin carver! Looks like you have the 'traditional' template down pat :)

HOORAY for nice handymen! That looks a million times better (not that your makeshift curtain wasn't lovely).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ♥

Oh I adore your pumpkins :D I just bought six today for carving with the kids on Saturday \o/ I'm super excited, ahah, probably more than they are, actually. Oh well!

And I'm glad to hear that your ceiling got fixed, finally :)

I AM! Traditional is boring though, but Peter knows how carried away I get. Still, not fair that he should be stifling me in this way.

It really does look so much better than I ever expected, so I'm pleased =)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ♥

Icons again! Yay! Your pumpkinheads of last year are awesome!

I always found Halloween nice. DId you know, that we don't have this holiday here in my country? Just like Valentine's Day, although young people celebrate this in the last few years.

From: [identity profile] chratz.livejournal.com

awesome pumpkins! I don't celebrate Halloween, because it really isn't one of our holidays. it has been creeping over and there are people who do celebrate it, but it really isn't our culture really. I do enjoy the beautiful pumpkins though. Really beautiful.

I am happy that your bathroom looks nice again as well and I have been reading some of the big bang stories of paperlegends as well. I especially enjoyed the Dochas story. really lovely.

Right now, I am more in a Sherlock mood though, because I am completely in love with the three episodes, that have been given to us Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat and the BBC. I just adore things the BBC produces. Merlin, Doctor Who, Robin Hood, Torchwood and now Sherlock. I am looking forward to more and hope that 2011 will come soon enough.

Right now I am a bit sick, so I spent today with drinking tea and reading fanfiction and sleeping, which was actually quite nice. :)

Aw, that's such a shame =/

It's gained interest over here the last few years, though nothing like to the same extent as in the US. When I first started taking my brothers out when they were really little, we were practically the only ones out trick-or-treating.

I do love carving pumpkins!

I've not read the Dochas one yet, I'll look forward to that =)

Sherlock was wonderful, wasn't it? =)

Hope you feel better soon; take care of yourself ♥

aww, this makes me wish i had pumpkin-carving plans. but i don't. at least i'm going to a halloween party on saturday :)

glad to see you have a proper ceiling again!

From: [identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com

I'm soooooo glad your bathroom got at least semi-fixed!!

Also, your pumpkins are epic, and Peter needs to just get and life a deal - "traditional" is waaaaay overrated! I really like the third from the right, kinda creepy, but not overly scary.

One of the traditions on the riding team here is that team practice on the Friday before Halloween (whichever is the closest) is done in costumes! There are some wicked awesome ones too :-) I am going as a Gryffindor Quidditch player, and I'm going to put a sign on the horse's saddle pad that says "Nimubs 2000" :-D
