My incoherent (but brilliant?) thoughts =)

1. I was hoping for a lazy do-nothing day today, but as with all my plans lately, I failed. It's okay though - I got sucked into all the Impala/Kawoosh! things I wanted to get done, so I'm on top of pretty much everything which is good - I need to really to keep up with everything as much as I can, and I'm doing pretty well I think =) Also - for any Kawooshers/Stargate vid watchers reading this, I hope you've checked out my last post - and go have your say about what challenge should be next - doesn't matter if you're entering or it's just a preference over what vids you'd like to see made - and pimp this poll please as it's only gonna be up for a week - thank you =) As for The Impala stuff, I've pretty much done all my vid-watching/feedback now, but if I've missed anything, feel free to poke me =)

2. [livejournal.com profile] spn_sceneit already has 59 (61 now since I finshed typing *lol*) members and that makes me very happy! Thank you - all of you - and a special huge thanks to the mods who are doing such a fantastic pimping job ;) We really hope this comm will fill a need that we feel is out there for Supernatural vidding resources, so if you've signed up, feel free to post and help out others with requests too =)

3. I now have a printed off copy of Midnight Sun and I'm really enjoying it. Really enjoying it. It's great reading Twilight from Edward's point of view, and I actually find a lot of his angst amusing =) I'm not even halfway yet - taking my time and enjoying what little there is of it. I'd love for SM to get over her hissy fit and write the whole damn thing - hell, I'd like her to write them all from Edward's point of view - but I can't see any of that happening any time soon, unfortunately. If at all.

4. I watched the first episode of Lost in Austen... and I liked it =)

5. I kinda lost my Photoshop addiction for a bit there, what with being stupidly busy a lot the last few weeks. Also - the hissy fits cos I don't know how to do certain things - like simple text stuff dammit - has taken the shine off my new hobby a little bit. I'm going to try and make some time this week to play a little more as I really do enjoy doing it - and I've decided that if I'm still throwing hissy fits and being a complete idiot by the time [livejournal.com profile] popcornleader comes to stay, then I'm going to have to beg her for an idiot's crash course ;)

6. I burnt my finger quite badly this week - I've never had a burn hurt that much. I ended up having to keep my hand in a glass of water for almost an hour, and still it was frickin killing me. Anyway, it was healing ridiculously well, quite surprised me actually. Until last night, when i shut it in the lounge door and took off not only the helaing skin but all the perfectly fine skin around it too. Impressive amount of bleeding *lol* and now it just looks like a mangled mess. Nuh. Need to remember not to shut my hand in doors. That would be a good plan. Cos, y'know, it's not like it's the first time.

7. This may be obvious to only me, but I'm throwing it out there anyway... With SGA finishing this season *pouts*... and David Tennant likely to be moving on from Doctor Who in the near future... and David Hewlett having said he has always wanted to be Doctor Who... anyone see where I'm going with this? Anyone else have that fantastic image in their head of DH as the next timelord? Anyone?? Let's start a campaign, dammit!

...

Okay, back to work I guess. *sighs* Just a little bit longer and then I'm curling up on the couch with Midnight Sun =)

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend =)

*hugs all*

3) Haven't started reading Midnight Sun yet, but I did download it! I think I must first get over being annoyed at her childish temper tantrum before I can read it. I was so looking forward to it!

4) I actually have Lost in Austen on my computer, but haven't had time to watch it. I am hopeful I'll like it. I mean, Jane Austen!

6) Ouch! You poor thing!

7) I would love, love, love for David Hewlett to be the next Doctor. He'd be brilliant at it, don't you think? Did you see the con video where he was talking about the Doctor being his dream role? It's v. cute.

I got over her hissy fit pretty quickly - probably because I'd stayed spoiler-free for Midnight sun for so long and was desperate to read it - and it's been worth the wait for sure - I'm jsut really disappointed that it's unlikely to be finished. Hope you enjoy it when you start ;)

I really enjoyed Lost in Austen - wasn't sure if I would, but I'm really looking forward to the next episode =) Love all the Jane Austen books - except Sense & Sensibility which - no matter how many times I try - I just can't read for some reason.

Thanks for that link! I'd not seen that but I have read lots of stuff before where he says how wanting to be Doctor Who got him into acting, etc, so I would love to see him play that part =)

1. Methinks I'll trade you - I was awake for a grand total of... lemme see, nine hours yesterday before I fell asleep again. Stupid fatigue. Silly iron deficiency *defiantly munches cheeseburger*

2. OMG I SAW THAT TOO! I. Am. So. Stoked to be a part of it! I hope people will start posting very soon :) I'm going to start the process of ripping and converting my DVDs soon so hopefully I shall also be making some clips here and there ;)

5. Me? Crash course? ...lol. That's all I have to say, really. I don't really have any idea what I'm doing with that program, and I'm not the best at text, just so you know. But I shall help out however I can. Let it be known that your cropping is already awesome, so we can check that one off the list ;)

6. Aww oh my gosh! Not just a burn but a shmoosh too! :( I hope it gets better soon!

*uberhugs*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll trade me for what? My productivity? *lol* I keep on top of everything as best I can, not always easy but *shrugs* I think I should, and I want to =) And... yeah.

I KNOW! Isn't it brilliant? I mean, I had high hopes cos we have such a fantastic team running it *hugs you all* but seriously, I'd have thought it would take a little longer to get that kind of number - 2 frickin days! - and I'm really looking forward now to watching it take off and grow =)

Yes you *pokes* crash course (idiot level) if I've not learnt more by then ;) In exchange - you get the superior suite and preferential rates at Hotel Muppet - deal? *smiles endearingly*

My poor finger is most ugly right now. Am avoiding doors wherever possible. And irons.

*hugs hard*

Hee, yup! My main problem is, if I'm honest, apathy as a result of a bad mood lol.

Definite deal! I'll also do some ironing if you need it done - I'm a complete whiz at it! Probably the one domestic thing that I DO know how to do, other than bake cakes ;)

*uberhugs, minding the finger*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Ironing? Phbt - don't do ironing =) Well, except for this week - and then just as a favour - and ended up maiming myself, so that's it, no more ironing here ;)

*telepathically sends you motivational inspiration*

x

[identity profile] dazzlebug.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay motivation inspiration! Yay we're rhyming! Oooooh yesh, getting our groove on now, yes we are.

Speaking of doing that exact thing, what fun things are there to do at Hotel Muppet? And Bournemouth in general? That postcard you sent me looked very fun :)

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess that depends what you like doing really! If you're the clubbing type, then you're asking the wrong person cos *points at self* don't like clubbing.

There's loads to do though, depends what you like really!

[identity profile] dazzlebug.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not big into clubbing, no. On occasion yes. Taking the girlfriend when she comes over in December but otherwise I'm a bit of a homebody in general. I like movies, eating lots and lots of junky snacks (if you hadn't already guessed, lol), beach-type doings... yeah anything really, hehe!

When I get into the train station are you going to hold a sign with my name on it???? I've always wanted to be met somewhere like that, hehe!

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well the beach is literally on my doorstep *lol* so you're okay with that - surfer watching maybe? *grins* Um - there's a great hotel/bistro literally opposite me called Urban Beach which is a great place to go - cinemas 5 minutes drive away in Bournemouth - email me sometime and we'll start drawing up a list of what you like and I can narrow it down for you then ;)

[identity profile] dazzlebug.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
All sounds great to me! Is it still warm-ish on the coast in November, then? Has it been raining there, too? It's been pouring constantly for about a week now where I am :(

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Well personally I love the cold weather and as far as I'm concerned it's never cold enough - yeah, I'm a freak - so I'll tell you that it's fine here in November and not cold at all, whereas you might well think it's freezing! Still, who knows, it might be okay - and I like the beach in autumn/winter - that's when I like it best, I think =)

It's been very wet here too, though not as bad yesterday as it was, and even better today - so I think we had the worst of it Thursday/Friday =)

*hugs*

[identity profile] dazzlebug.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Just checked out the Urban Beach website and HOMG I WANT! Looks awesome!

Heehee I LOVE cold weather! Just not cold and WET, really. I like it when the wind has that bite to it and as soon as you step inside from being out in the cold you burn up and it feels AMAZING ^_^ Brrrr!

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I like it when the wind has that bite to it and as soon as you step inside from being out in the cold you burn up and it feels AMAZING

That's what I like!!! Not the wet though, but everything else you said, I absolutely agree =)

Urban Beach is always, always packed and in the summer everyone is outside on the decking area (does it have a picture of that) and yeah - totally packed all the damn time *lol*

[identity profile] dazzlebug.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I must admit that I was mainly looking at the rooms there *blushy* I have a freakish obsession with looking at pictures of hotel rooms, for serious. But I saw some piccytures of outside-type tables etc. But it looks like a must-go place, definitely! ^_^

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They've done an absolutely amazing job with that place - used to be just a run-dwon cheap tacky hotel and they've totally modernised and uplifted it, and it's now the place to go - people come from all over the place to stay there, plus it's packed with Londoners pretty much every weekend *lol* but yeah, it's still really nice =)

[identity profile] suzyx.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
3. I thought it was a good read, too. :D I wish SMeyer would just write the rest of the damn thing.

6. Oh no! That sucks. I hope it heals quickly- try not to slam it in doors anymore, lol. My sister put her hand to an iron when she was about 4... I was up with her all night refilling a bowl of ice water. Sucks.

By the way, I'm sorry I haven't responded to your email! I will. :)

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh so do I - I'm not even halfway and I'm enjoying it even more than I thought I would - it's great to read it from Edwards point of view - refreshing really, and even though i know everything that's going to happen next, you sort of don't as you want to know how Edward saw things. Hopefully she'll get over herself and get the damn thing finished.

It was so, so stupid slamming it in the door - it was healing so well right up until that point. Now it just looks mangled and horrible and... eugh. *sighs* See, this is why I don't do any ironing at all - did some ironing as a favour for someone, burn myself nastily, then it's all downhill from there. Irons = evil.

Aw, no worries about the email. Actually... I wasn't expecting you to reply - did wonder if maybe you might be a little miffed that I'm being such an idiot at not understanding what you'd so carefully tried to explain for me =/ Much, much appreciated though, honestly =)

*hugs*

[identity profile] suzyx.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Actually... I wasn't expecting you to reply - did wonder if maybe you might be a little miffed that I'm being such an idiot at not understanding what you'd so carefully tried to explain for me

LMAO! No way! I was/am NOT miffed, lol. Tell me exactly what you don't understand. I know how you feel though- it took me awhile to get the hang of what I was doing and I honestly still have no clue.

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-12 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm really glad - as you did obviously go to a lot of trouble to send that and I do really appreciate it =)

Well... I still don't use/understand properly brushes and textures and i have (I think) the loosest understanding of layers - but text... I really don't know why I find it so hard. There are a few ideas I have for just basic text icons, and I just get so frustrated as they all come out so awful that I end up giving up pretty quickly - which I'm afraid is a bad fault of mine.

I think part of it is because I don't know enough about which fonts to use/which would look best - they always seem to look blurry or just plain crappy when I do them - maybe I should send you a couple and you could see what I mean?

I sort of feel stupid though as I tend to think that doing plain text icons must be the easiest thing to do and yet I just can't seem to grasp it!

Thanks for your patience though, definitely much appreciated!

*hugs*

I'm all for DH becoming new Doctor =) Especially if he keeps McKay snark *snickers* Where do I sign?

=)

Dang about the finger. I hope it'll heal soon.

*hugs*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
See I try not to picture it - but I can't help myself - a McKay-like Doctor would be too awesome for words =)

We need to start a petition right now!

*hugs*

*hugs* @#6: burns suck. I burned my wrist bad two weeks ago... huge blister within a half hour... and of COURSE it had to be on shabbos! Bad karma, bad! *lol*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It's actually doing that miraculous healing thing again right now - it was a helluva mess this morning, but it's almost healed over now - just have to try and keep it that way this time =)

[identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome :) Oh, and for reference, this stuff is FANTASTIC for pretty much anything! It really is miracle! I'm not positive she ships to the UK, but I'm sure she'd be willing to give it a go.

My mom got a REALLY bad third-degree burn once, and treated largely with this stuff and barely even has a scar. It's awesome, smear it on anything and you're good to go pretty much! The only problem with it: if you use it and there's a dog around, they tend to lick it off (since it has olive oil and other yummy things in it!)

*hugs*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the tip ;) It's doing this miraculous healing thing now though - can't believe it cos it was relaly horrible earlier and now, not so much - so yay =)

*hugs*

[identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, sometimes things heal awesome on their own :)

[identity profile] psycho-warbaby.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
hiya!
Don't you hate it when you lazy weekend fills up and before you know it you've barely spent 5 minutes at home all weekend! My weekend was just like that the weekend just past! Both Sat and Sun I should have been done and back home by 12, but instead I didn't get home on either day till 5 or 6!!! hurmph!

I hope you get better soon, and lost that case of walking into/catching ur fingers in doors/walls/hot things....

Congrats on spn_sceneit! Glad to hear it's going well! Always thought that you people are so clever editing and creating fanvids!

And Finally... DH replacing DT as DW!!! Would love to see out of curiosity and to see Hewlett as The Doctor, but someone I can only see a brit/UKer as the Doctor, I don't know they just have a different demeanour when they act, a different air about them, so it just wouldn't work.. although DH as a reoccurring villain.. now that would be interesting! Co-incidentally.. both DT and DH have the same birthday and both had childhood dreams of been The Doctor and that was the motivating factor that pushed BOTH men into acting! quirky!

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure DH could pull it off though - and hell, it'd be interesting to see him doing it! And there's a sign that it's supposed to happen - shared birthdays and shared boyhood dream! *lol* I would totally love to see it, but I think you're right in one way, that TPTB wouldn't cast a non-Brit - but who knows?

I don't mind too much about losing my lazy day - got a lot down on the sites and that's what's important, trying to stay on top of everything and keeping everyone hapopy *lol*

Hope your workload eases up a little though and you get a nice long break soon =)

*hugs*

[identity profile] yokiem.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Lost in Austen! I'm enjoying it a lot as well!

DH for DW, that would be ver nice!

As for burning fingers, I hope it's healing again! I've burning my fingers, knuckles, hands on the -80degC freezer at work, I never learn :P

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
There definitely should be a DH for DW campaign going on, with buttons and everything!

Do you know how many episodes of Lost in Austen there are - I could go look I guess but I'm a sucker for reading more than I should and spoiling myself =/

Ouch @ the cold burn - that's gonna hurt - hope you've not done that recently!

[identity profile] yokiem.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Buttons?? That's cool!

I have no idea about Lost in Austen, I just discovered it yesterday! I hope there's few of them, although the speed of it is quick so I'm not so sure... the shorts for next episode look really funny!

And yeah you wouldnt think cold burns could burn/hurt so badly :P hehe...

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, buttons. *nods* Like those presedential buttons you see, but this time with something relevant and important on them: 'David for Doctor' ;)`

I tried to look at the website to see how many episodes of Lost in Austen there are but spoilt myself a little by reading the first line on the page - so ran away again without discovering anything - sorry =P

[identity profile] nicole9514.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
lol another David as the doctor i could so go for that :)

I think SM will write it eventually, i think she just needs a break from it and all the drama. She seems to take things very personally, so getting away from twilight for awhile might do her some good and let her finish a book i want so badly. I would have preferred if they'd all been written from edwards POV personally from the beginning, i think he's much more interesting :)

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
I would have preferred if they'd all been written from edwards POV personally from the beginning, i think he's much more interesting :)

Oh definitely - even though I've read this book and know what's going to happen, it's so different reading it again from a fresh and more interesting perspective. I hope too that she finishes it - though I'd still love to see her do all 4 from his POV =)

I hope you're right and that once she's had a little break, she'll come back round to the idea =)

David as Doctor Who - just makes sense =)

*HUGS*

[identity profile] angst-angel.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
anyone see where I'm going with this? Anyone else have that fantastic image in their head of DH as the next timelord?

I never thought of that!!! But it's an intriguing idea. :D

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Intriguing? It would be amazing =)
