Non-smoker :)
It's a year today since I quit smoking :)
*pats self on back*
I have an appointment today for a haircut with a guy called Greg who is so damn cool. He's just a few years older than me and we both grew up in the same small town so have a lot of stories and places in common to talk about. Last time I was there one of the girl apprentices was moaning about how there's nothing to do there (true) and how all the old people block anything the young people want to do (also true) and we were suggesting wild things she could do and Greg was moaning too comparing our hometown to the little town on Footloose, because you honestly aren't allowed to do anything there, and although I'm fairly sure I didn't dance round my car in an abandoned warehouse at any time during my youth, it's a fair enough comparison ;)

Well done, you. :) My dad gave up smoking after years and years... decades even, of addiction. It's a great achievement!
Y'know, I still haven't watched Footloose... I can dance to it though!

Only "fairly sure" you never went dancing about the car tops? Sounds like you might have found more to do in that little town of yours than you're 'fessing up to if your memory is that muzzy! ;) Don't you just love the American musical where crowds break into spontaneous song and dance and nobody finds it disconcertingly weird? I've always wanted to stage something like that, if only to film people's reactions....

I'm sure I read that somewhere ~ thanks :)

Hee, I love hairdressers. They're always entertaining. Speaking of smokes, mine always comes up with this story about how my dad refused to sell her cigarettes because she looked underage and had no ID on her.

I'm actually pretty good at quitting stuff when I really put my mind to it :)

HB was a two-pack-a-day smoker long before I met him. But he said that one day he just decided to quit and he did. No angst, gnashing of teeth, nothing.
Both my parents did the same thing. Dad was two to three. Mom was one to two. When they found out they were going to get me...the smokes were put down, never to be picked up again.
Just goes to show the power of the mind.
Besides....I think it just looks so unclassy. Bad for your skin, dental health, wrinkles around the mouth, makes your hair and clothes smell yucky, costs a crazy amount of money that could be spent on [fill in the blank], plus a whole host of other things that I'm sure you are more than aware of.
Ok. Back to work. No rest for the weary and for those that stay up just tooo way late, falling asleep with their computer still sitting on the lap. Namely Moi!
