Sorry I've not posted much lately. Here's a random list of things for you:


1) ceiling: Do you remember when my bathroom ceiling fell down last November? Well I've had that red sheet there ever since and I've been really lucky as it hasn't leaked. Until now. Very stormy here last night and this morning and I woke up to find water coming through the sheet. I've had to take the sheet down to dry it out and have spent most of the morning mopping up water and hoping it'll dry soon so the sheet can go back. What a waste of a day off work. This is how it looks right now and you can clearly see the water stains where it's still leaking.





2) paper legends: I fell a little behind with my Big Bang reading after a good start, but I'm doing well again now and have read about 20 of the stories so far. I'm hoping to get through a few more this weekend too. So if you're looking for amazing Merlin stories to read, then check out the masterlists over at paperlegends; you won't be disappointed =)

3) autumn: I'm so glad summer is finally over and autumn is here as I'm one of those (apparently) strange people who like the cold and the dark. Not the rain so much though, obviously (see above). I've also been making lots of casseroles and soups lately because 1) they're cheap 2) they can last for days and 3) they're delicious =) AND SPROUTS ARE BACK! Yes, I'm one of those (apparently) strange people who loves and adores sprouts.

Peter and I went to Marwell Zoo a couple of weeks ago and for the first time EVER during one of our trips he bought me a present from the gift shop; he said he got it because I like Merlin so much:

It has freaked me out quite a bit, mostly fear over the water damage but also partly because I NEED IT COVERED UP NOW as I'm absolutely terrified of spiders coming though =/

Autumn/winter and the cold dark days make me happy in the same was sunshine and light does for most other people.

Yes, but it's always been covered up with the red sheet, which you can see in the link to the other post in my main post. I just want it to stop leaking now so 1) I can stop worrying and 2) I can cover it so no spiders come out.

Has much, much envy for beach, I miss the sea side - those are very pretty shots - and YAY for dragons! *G*

I was doing ok with the strangeness of liking the cold and dark, I miss the warm summer and light days with a billion butterfly sneezes, but I absolutely draw the line with SPROUTS! **shrieks** No, no, no, not the sprouts, save me from the evil sprouts!

Your ceiling may have fallen in, but is the actual roof of the building your responsibility? If not, find out who is ok? Water damage can only get worse.

As I mentioned in an above comment, autumn/winter and the cold dark days make me happy in the same was sunshine and light does for most other people. It just makes me feel happy and safe and content. And sprouts? ADORE THEM!

It's the responsibility of the freeholder, but I'm sure you've read on here when I've ranted before about how truly awful he is and how he won't get anything done that needs doing. Besides, I just got this years maintenance bill through, so until I pay that I can't really ask him to do anything. Hopefully it'll dry up soon so I can put the sheet back up.

It is bad, and I'm quite freaked out by it. As long as it was covered I could pretty much just ignore it and I was fine that it just had a sheet there. Now I'm worried though, so hoping it'll dry soon so I can put the sheet back.

1. I do recall. And that still sucks. Hopefully you won't have to be mopping up more water any time in the near future :P

2. I am SO BEHIND on reading BB fics, it's not even funny. I haven't read anything in like close to 2 weeks now, and I have a massive list which contains pretty much all of them, minus the A/G ones... So it's going to take me a while, heh ;)

3. I love autumn as well, don't worry! I also like winter, actually, and it gets COOOOLD and snowy here, so I guess that makes me weird too ;). Not a fan of sprouts though, but that's all right... I still think I'm a bit weird, but there's nothing wrong with that :D

4. Ooh! Beach! :D How lovely :D. Also, that's so sweet of Peter to buy you those dragons *grins* :)

1) I just want to get the sheet back up so no spiders come through. And more importantly, I want it to stop leaking water as clearly that freaks me out.

2) I started well, then work/RL got in the way, but I'm getting back on top of it now =)

3) Sprouts are the best vegetable in the world (bar potatoes of course) and I simply don't understand why everyone doesn't love them!

4) He can be a sweetie sometimes, but it's so rare that it's always a shock!

1 - Urgh, that sucks. Hopefully it'll dry out quickly :/ I have a similar problem, but in my bedroom. And I get little puddles of water whenever it rains. Which seems to be almost every day lately.

3 - I am jealous of you going to the beach. I'd never thought I'd say it, but I miss it! :(

OMG dragons! They're adorable! And I am so envious of your beach -- I'm about 200kms inland. I do have a lake, though, so I'm not exactly water deprived -- and I'm moving closer to it next month!

SPROUT SOUL MATE! I love them too! Have you read any Robert Rankin? In "Armageddon: The Musical", there's a talking time sprout that lives in Elvis's head. (For serious). I also like cool weather because I knit, and so I get to wear my knitting in cool weather more than I do in the summer here, because in the summer here I'm usually slobbing about and going OMG TOO HOT TO DO ANYTHING.

They're just these little plastic toys, but it was so unexpected and so sweet =)

I wish I went down there more (it's literally 5 minutes or less from my doorstep) but I'm such a sad little agrophobe-like person.

SPROUTS ARE LOVE, RIGHT?! I made another veggie casserole last night and put LOADS of sprouts in! Sprout soup isn't good though, which left me quite disappointed when I made that last winter. Still, sprouts are wonderful =)

The cold weather makes me happy in the way summer and sunshine makes other people happy.

I've never tried sprout soup, but they're good in stirfry, too! I tried to grow my own one year, and failed (caterpillars, ugh), but I did notice that in the morning the plants could be black and dead-looking from the frost or snow (very light snow!) but they'd be bright and green and happy again in the afternoon!

I love the smell you get in cold weather, and that feeling of being all snuggled up in the warm while it's windy and sleeting outside :)

The beach photo is lovely. I really miss being on the beach in Florida. It's so peaceful and lifts my spirits.

I am so with you on autumn. It's my favorite season. I love summer/spring and even winter (if it doesn't snow too bad and for too long) but fall is really what I look forward to. It's a bit cold tonight and right now I'm actually making a pot of chili (vegetarian - you could come on over and have dinner with me!) It smells really good :D

Ooh, the beach looks fantastic! We had a lot of sun last two days (after a very crappy week), but it's not the same.
