4 things.

This is either a) me being a better flister and posting regular stuff a little more often or b) me spamming you just a little with random me stuff. Up to you which it is =)

1. I'm so sick of waking up in the early hours of the morning with cramps. 4am this morning and this has been nearly 2 weeks now. I think too that I'm possibly putting too much faith in the restorative power of make-up this morning.

2. After I'd gone back to bed after my nasty early wake-up call, I had a Primeval dream! I admit to being just a little pissed at my brain that it never, ever provides anything Merlin-related when I sleep. *sighs* Anyway, this Primeval dream was quite amusing really - standard monster-of-the-week kind of thing where geek-boy and soldier-boy save the day - which of course is how it should be as they're my favourite characters and yes, I do give them all different names to their actual character names =)

3. I had an amusing conversation with my 5 year old nephew recently. He very earnestly was arguing with me, pretty much telling me I was clearly stupid and that of course there was no such thing as ninja's, though it was highly possible that dragons existed. ORLY? This is the same nephew who once wet his bed when he stayed over at mine and told me in the morning - with a completely straight face like it was the most believable story ever - that a policeman had come in during the night and done it, and it wasn't him.

4. I've not recced any Merlin fics lately but any that I've loved (and there haven't been too many lately, sadly) have been added to my Delicious bookmarks. If you're only going to read only one, then read Four Things One Should Know About Merlin (and One Things Nobody Knows About Arthur because it's just wonderful and will put a happy grin on your face =)

*hugs all*

What kind of cramps? Muscle cramps? Had that too and it is nasty because when it was time to get up I hat to limp around because my leg still hurt. It probably means you are low on magnesium and calcium. Just get some from a drug store and you should be fine in no time.

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
Poorly pig cramps AKA my never-ending frickin period.

*sighs*

[identity profile] huntress1013.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh THOSE...yeah they suck too. Mine usually go together with muscle, bone and back pain. -_- Hot water bottle is really the only thing that sort of helps in that case :hugs: :-\

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
And lots of drugs. Fairly high right now on painkillers and lack of sleep *lol* so I'm looking at that as a plus - got to try and find the good in all situations =)

*hugs back*

Vitamin B6 is supposed to be good at relieving lot of period symptoms. One of my friends swears by it, but yeah...I usually fall back on the ibuprofin. I got some B6, but keep forgetting to take it consistently, so I'm not sure if it works or not. *hugs*

Was just saying to [livejournal.com profile] deans_babe that obviously with my financial situation lately I'd actually had to stop taking my vitmains, etc, because I couldn't afford them, and coupled with my generally crappy diet lately, these are all probably contributory factors with why it's so bad right now. Oh well - just have to keep taking more drugs =)

*hugs*

drugs are expensive too though. Can you maybe buy more fresh fruit and veggies and add a little salt to your diet? Might be cheaper and make you feel better. Poor hon. *hugs*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I just buy the cheapest supermarket own brand ones so they're 30p a packet or something really cheap like that. The food bit depends on how much money I have each month and how long I can make it last right now - some months are better than others =)

*hugs*

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I get that. Maybe it's different in the UK. Here fresh stuff is generally the cheapest stuff.

Found this site *linky* that tells you foods that contain vitmins naturally.

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you =)

Your nephew is the cutest! :D

Hope you'll feel better, soon *hugs*

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm okay, just being whiny as usual *lol*

[identity profile] vita-candeo.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
*hugs* I get cramps bad too :( Fill an old sock with some uncooked rice (not instant rice, the regular kind) and heat it in the microwave for 2 minutes (more or less.) The heat feels really nice on the cramping areas :)

LMAO @ #3. Little kids can be wicked funny and say such cute things!

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm at work and really missing my water bottle right now!

Josh is pretty funny, bless him, and he makes it even funnier by being so serious and earnest when he says these things =)

The youngest child of our family friend's is named Eitan. He is tiny. He doesn't have dwarfism or something, he's just small. At age four, he weighed 30 pounds, and 40 around age 5. At age six he's now in size 4 clothes (which is too big for him.) But, he's like a little dog; he thinks he's far bigger than he is. Once he got sugar high on chocolate and donned his superman cape and underwear (when he was four.) He proceeded to challenge my dad to a fight, with raised fists and stance, and absolutely dead serious. We were all laughing our asses off because this kid weighs about 30 pounds, and think he can beat my dad (who is over 200 and built like a quarterback, not to mention was in lay enforcement for many years and knows combat techniques.) My dad just picked him put by the ankles and held him upside down at arms-length and Eitan gave up. However, he did try it again later when the a Rabbi came over... we decided it was time for bed for him! (And NO MORE SUGAR for the weekend!)

Kids are just so hilarious sometimes =)

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
It's been about 2 weeks now with these never-ending period pains, dammit. Thank God for drugs and the haze they induce or I'd never get through the day!

Josh is pretty lolarious - always coming out with stuff that leaves me pretty speechless =)

Cramps - *ugh* *hugs* Only thing that really works - magnets? I know someone who got rid of theirs by wearing those really strong things...

Me loves spam, but me is also logging off soon 'till after the SPN finale - come SO far and not gonna let anyone spoil it for me now. *G*

You've got my mail addy, feel free to use it honey and I'll be checking in again Friday.

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'm in a drug-induced haze right now so I'm okay till that wears off *lol* plus thinking of knocking off from work a little early today if I can =)

Good luck staying spoiler-free hon xx

[identity profile] nimielle.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww!! That story you rec-ed was so adorable! :D

When I have more time, I'll check out those bookmarks you mentioned :)

LMAO, I love TV-show related dreams, they are always the most bizarre affairs, at least in my case.

Mwah!

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Wasn't it so, so lovely? Really made me smile =)

I've not added very much lately, but there is quite a lot on there now, and it's all extremely well tagged which I hope will be helpful =)

*hugs*

I'm sorry about your cramps hon!! *hugs you tight*

Yet, it's always nice to see you posting!!! *hugs you more*

May I say that your nephew sounds adorable? =)

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-12 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He is adorable... and thanks for the hugs =)

*hugs back*

Ugh. Cramps. Your poor thing! I finally told my doctor I wanted birth control, just for the non-birth control reasons. Now I am mostly cramp free and it is so much nicer.

Kids are dolls. I used to be a children's librarian (for like, 6 months because that job sucks) and the kids in my toddler time would do the most adorable things. I miss them, but not that job. Teens are much easier, ironically.

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-05-13 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
It's mostly annoying now, since the hormonal mood swings have passed - in a way, they just made it so much worse. Ugh.

I have two nephews and they're both lolarious =)

[identity profile] sue91.livejournal.com 2009-05-14 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Yay, now we can suffer together... I've spent most of the afternoon in bed, because I've been having cramps myself... A problem shared is a problem halved? [Do you actually say that in English?]

2. Awww :D I'm envious, I've never had a fandom-related dream before xD Then again, I rarely remember any dreams, I have.

3. The stories little children tell are the best ever :D ♥ That's one of the reasons I enjoy doing children's service so much :D

*hugs*
