Need help...

Calling all the more IT-smarts on my flist - please can you help me?

So that pretty layout I had on my profile page? Yeah - had to delete it because apparently when viewed with FireFox it screwed up the page =( Here's how...



See how the blue bar at the top has been brought down now and covers some of my userinfo? And I really don't know why.

So - most of my flist are far more IT-smarts than me, so is there anyone here who can help me to fix this? I have the original profile code and the adapted version that I did if anyone could/would take a look and - y'know - fix this for me. I'd be seriously grateful.

I would love to see the code, if that is possible. I am not that good with html, but I do use Firefox as my main browser, so maybe I could play a little bit with the code, and see how it goes?

Well all seem to agree that shouldn't even be the cause so can you do me a favour and just look at the page now - in FireFox - and confirm that without the layout there it looks fine? Once everyone agrees that it does I'll add the code back in and see if it does it again =)

Yup, looked at it in Firefox, both logged in and logged out and it looks normal.

Sure it wasn't just l/j throwing a wobbly, far as I can tell (shhh - I don't know jack squat, but guessing) you usually put the personal coding inside the Bio, which shouldn't affect the look of the page at the top? Should it?

If you want to try it again I'll be back in around an hour or so. Oh, and I use Firefox.

Just looked now and everything is as it should be - I don't use that particular L/J header but one of the others, but it's exactly the same as every other profile I've seen. :))

normally the profile layout shouldn't even change how the other parts of the site look like - maybe it was just a glitch on the site or something.

That is odd. I've used FF for ages and I've never seen anything like that on a profile page. But I'll second the above in saying that what you do in the bio should not have any effect on the LJ info at the top.

It looks great to me! Pretty banner centered in the bio section, the text centred under that, no funkiness at the top. I think you've got it!

Er - there's nothing at all in the bio section right now - it's my personal LJ page I'd like checked, and if it looks fine now, then I'll re-add the profile code I did have on there last night and then people can tell me if the same thing happens as happened in the ablve screenshot - does that make sense? Hope so!

was at my grandma's with no internet connection, but now I am home again and I can report that your profile looks absolutely fine in my firefox, and gorgeous too, btw. :)
