LJ question...

Is it just me whose LJ profile and viewing is a bit messed up? With the blue LJ header bar staying in place when you scroll down, so it obscures things at the top, and all the comments squished together? I don't like it.





And is anyone else having problems with any LJ payments at all? It won't let me pay for anything.

Only just home and logged in, but so far everything looks ok at this end - Windows XP - Firefox. I do admit to using Adblock to stop the loading of the strong coloured headers, so mine should always the blue one, but they could be messing around putting a new one up.

No, it's still the blue one as it always is for me, but now it's fixed in place, so instead of disappearing when you scroll down, it stays fixed at the top of the page, as in the sample screencap I've just added above.

Plus LJ payments aren't working for me now either, and have been trying for a couple of days.

I sometimes get the squished thing on the iPad, but on Safari it's looking fine (and so is yours). I always just figured the squished thing was the iPad being weird. It likes being weird. I think it gets off on it.

Just seen the screenshot - yes, I used to have that header, but I was messing around one day, tried another and now it's impossible to return to that basic one and I'm stuck with this dark blue one, which they change every month - October was really bright red/orange leaves that I just couldn't bear to look at! Wish I'd never mucked about as I liked the paler blue one you still have and it never went through all the changes.

However all that isn't about your problem, honestly, if everything else is working, I'd give it a couple of hours, restart your computer and try it again, it might just be a temporary glitch.

The payment thing I can't help you with as I haven't been on their page for ages, actually took off my automatic payments when they so closely affiliated themselves with FaceBook - is the page unavailable to you or are you just not getting it to load correctly?

I have no idea what the problem may be. I have only IE at work so I can't see if maybe Firefox is messed as well.

As for the payments, I used them couple of days ago and without problems.

How long are you having these problems? Maybe give LJ some time? Those glitches happen from time to time and then everything re-adjust itself within few hours.

I've been having these problems for 3 or 4 day snow, though the comments thing now seems to have sorted itself.

With the payment thing, it lets me go through the whole process then tells me something about now being able to process the payment - I've checked with my bank and it's not a problem that end, and with the other LJ problems I'm having it seems obvious it's their problem.

I'll just give it a few more days and it'll probably clear itself up, these things usually do. Just wanted to check if I was the only one having problems.

Does sound as though it's them, or a security setting on your browser that might have changed regarding cookies or something, I'll have a quick scout around and see if anyone else is talking about problems, if I find anything I'll come back and let you know.

Something there about a bug fixes on some journals - might have been your display problem.

I see a lot of people there mentioned the squished comments problem I was having, but that's now apparently sorted itself.

I'm sure it'll all sort itself in a few days, just wanted to see if others were having the same problme, but apparently not =)

I see it fine too, but you can try erasing the browser's cache, it has given me ptoblems when trying layouts in the past and doing that fixed the layout.

It's happening not just on my home computer but my work computer too, so I figure it's an LJ issue.

I'm sure it'll resolve itself in a few days, just wanted to see if it was affecting anyone else. The squished up comments have resolved themselves though, so that's something!

I am using Firefox and both mine and yours look fine when I look at it. Also I don't have that light blue header but autumn leaves.

Good thought, but nope, I do have three options - first is Horizon (site default) then Vertigo (vertical navigation) then Lynx (light) and that's my lot, I used to have the XColibur option while I was using it, but once you've tried another and I did by mistake you can't go back to it and I'm stuck with Horizon, so if you like yours DON'T CHANGE!
