It's pretty safe to say that AU's are my favourite genre right now and I've been reading quite a lot of them lately { the longer the better } and there are some I've totally adored. Some are recent and some are older ones which I've only just stumbled across so chances are you'll have already read them, but on the off-chance that you haven't I thought I'd share my favourites that I've read over the past couple of weeks or so.

Sequel to If I try to kiss you. In which Colin gets sick, Bradley is still a little silly (and more than a little jealous.)


Two Weeks Notice by ras_elased | arthur/merlin, nc17
Arthur is a prattish Executive VP of the Pendragon Corporation with a disturbingly non-ironic love of Demotivational posters. Merlin is a tree-hugging barista with a "magic" tongue. Morgana's a peeping Tom and her breasts have superpowers. Gwen and Lancelot get married. Owain is the company bicycle. Arthur attempts to steal Merlin's affections from Will through epic DDR combat. Merlin gets drunk a lot. There is a pillow fight, and a helicopter ride, and rooftop confessions, and Arthur decides Merlin really is his destiny, whether he likes it or not.

Setting: first-time meeting; AU, where Bradley works in a cinema and Colin is a movie-critic for his college newspaper. However since he's fallen for Bradley, Colin's kinda forgotten that he's supposed to review only some of the movies, and not every last one of them.

Lovestruck!verse. Despite some rather traumatic childhood experiences, on the whole Arthur liked Christmas. Of course, should anyone ask him – and by 'anyone' he mainly meant Morgana – he would deny it. {Sequel to Lovestruck}

Arthur opened his eyes a minute later to the sight of seven magpies streaking across the top of the clearing, their shapes dark against the white clouds and the muted grey of the sky. He tried to remember what it was that seven magpies meant—he’d had a nurse who had sung the rhyme to him as a child—but couldn’t. Arthur wakes up somewhere he doesn’t recognise, but where he clearly belongs.
