Tintagel is stunning and in such a gorgeous location. Sadly there's really very little left of the actual castle now plus their link to Arthurian legend is fairly tenuous and they do acknowledge this by making sure it's clearly stated in the video (which you can watch at the entrance) and on several information plaques that the castle was in fact built some 500 years after the birth of any fictional/actual Arthur. Still, they milk their Arthurain claims for all it's worth in the village but it's actually done in a really nice way - everything is lovely and not at all touristy and that was a pleasant surprise; plus like I say, the remains of the castle and the views are quite stunning =)
