4 things.

1) sick & grouchy: I've been feeling pretty crappy for the last week or so (horrible period) plus just constant pain and headaches and lack of sleep and way, way too many tablets just to try and keep going - so basically I feel like pants today and am back to hiding out in a hoodie and baseball cap and hoping people at work will just leave me the hell alone. Which they are, mostly. But I really don't like feeling like this - when it drags on and on I end up feeling bleh and I just don't like that, so am hoping it all just goes the hell away really soon. Plus there's lots of stuff going on with my youngest brother... but I really ought to put that on the whiny filter and shut up now.

Okay - whine over =)

2) vid the grid: The lovely [livejournal.com profile] starrylizard has launched a new community called [livejournal.com profile] vid_the_grid: it's based on the numerous fic prompt table communities that you can find all over LJ. But why should authors have all the fun? In this community, the idea is to extend the fun to vidders too. Here's the guidelines and faq and just go check it out - she's done loads of work in putting it all together and it should be great =)

3) merlin fic recs:

♥a new rec♥ Every Time We Touch by [livejournal.com profile] betty_lynne | Bradley doesn't understand Colin. He blames it on the brogue. Colin doesn't understand Bradley. He blames it on the Buffy. But every time they touch, Colin gets the feeling that this is right. They'll probably never understand each other, but they might just learn to understand what love feels like. { PG-13 | Bradley/Colin }
(I just loved this to bits.)

♥an old rec♥ Treason to Us by [livejournal.com profile] janne_d | Arthur finds out. And he does not react well. { PG-13 | Merlin/Arthur }
(I recced this ages ago when I first read it, but I re-read it last week and as it's one of my all-time favourites I'm reccing it again - it's just wonderful and won't take you that long to read and honestly, it'll be time well spent - so go read if you haven't already.)

4) birthdays: I seem to miss quite a few people's birthdays and often with a few of you I'll want to send a card or whatever, but even with LJ notifications I'm not left with enough time - so if you want to tell me when your birthday is, that'd be great =)

Hope you're all doing okay ♥

*hugs*

Ahh, well, I'm still plodding along on the RPF; it cooperates in fits and starts, so it may be a while yet before I post. It is entitled 'Five Times Colin Fell In Love With Bradley (the Bradley James version)', and there's a lute in it! :)

[identity profile] the-muppet.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
There is not a lute in it! Now you're just trying to make me hysterical - which, btw, is working =)

I'm liking the title =)

There so is! Here, let me prove it to you in this tantalising snippet:

When Bradley had mentioned that he was going to do something very special for their five-month anniversary of Secretly Doing It Everywhere On Set And Off, Colin, in his innocent and unimaginative naivete, had assumed that they'd maybe share a bottle of slightly less cheap wine, or go an extra round in bed, or possibly track down that elusive cinema that apparently screened undubbed films but that none of them had been able to find yet. What Colin had not expected, and still couldn't quite believe, was that Bradley would barge into his hotel room at an ungodly hour and serenade him with Westlife.

"Bradley. Bradley. Bradley," Colin tried to say over Bradley's valiant, inexplicable attempt at one-man boybandery and determined plucking at what appeared to be -- "Did you steal that from props? Didn't they already put you on notice?"

Bradley gave up on manhandling his lute. "I'm only just borrowing it for a while. Angel won't let me touch her guitar."

"Well, considering that just in the past month, you lost her sunglasses and broke her mobile, I can't say this is a surprising development."

"Those sunglasses weren't doing her any favours; she really ought to thank me. And her phone was one of those -- clam things. They're widely known to be very fragile."

"You dropped it off a battlement."

Bradley frowned at him. "You're not Geoffrey of Monmouth, Colin. You don't need to record these things in minute detail."

I'm laughing so hard right now!

SEE! That entry on your LJ was an obvious subconscious error (or something) as you clearly have lutes on the brain! =D

I so can't wait for this story to be finished - and I'm still excessively proud of myself for pushing you (just a little) in the RPF direction =) You've still got to write lots more of your wonderful Merlin/Arthur too though =)

*hugs*

Glee! Oh, I just have the boys on the brain all the time; I don't know how that lute got in there.

You're such a dirty enabler. *hugs*

You're such a dirty enabler.

Aw, you're just saying that =) *smirks*

Also - birthday?

Did I mention I love the title of the RPF? =)

Hee, yes, I'm glad. I'm fond of it myself; I feel it's very succinct and telling. Because you know all five stories are going to be ridiculously embellished in some way. :)

Birthday, not for a while -- April 15.

Well as they're Bradley's versions then of course they are!
