Glad to read that your brother is improving. He had some major injuries and surgery so it's expected that he's going to have lingering pain. There is that inherent evil/hazard addiction to painkillers...it's something to watch out for. The night time meds that the doctor is prescribing sounds interesting. I hope they work for him. Also, I think people try to push themselves too hard during their recovery time which tends to really aggravate things.
